City Schools used to have the oldest buildings in the state. Fair funding means making sure dollars reach the students who need them most. I want equity reviews before every budget vote. Equal is not the same as fair. The Blueprint is our biggest tool right now, and I am committed to using it for the communities that have waited the longest.
Every student deserves a high-quality curriculum, trades treated with the same respect as AP classes, arts protected, and real accommodations for students in special education. As Chair of the Policy Committee, I'm proud we passed an arts policy this term!
Families should be partners, not bystanders. I hold community sessions across Baltimore where families set the agenda. I publish plain language explanations of every vote within 72 hours. I respond to every constituent email personally. I have pushed for authentic community engagement throughout my term to ensure everyone's voice, especially students', shapes policy before it passes and after.
My priorities for my next term are: Improving student outcomes Supporting our teachers and school-based staff Improving transit for all students Access to mental health professionals in every school Supporting student voice Protect immigrant families with a clear ICE non-cooperation policy Board meetings are held in neighborhoods across the city Permanent after-school programs

I would support policies that overhaul the current education funding system and focus on providing equitable resources for communities which have historically been underserved. This way students regardless of socioeconomic status will receive a quality education. I would also support policies that seek to increase investment from state & federal partners in traditionally underfunded programs.

I’d focus on changes that update the current standards of instruction to reflect skills that students will need in the real world. These include financial literacy, resume writing, etc. I’d also incorporate more project-based learning activities which seek to address real-world problems versus an overemphasis on testing that does not take into consideration students from diverse backgrounds.
I would start with identifying barriers that affect a parents’ capacity to participate in their child’s education. I would make it a priority to focus on different parent engagement strategies including the creation of parent advisory councils and involvement from the community to address issues involving the school system. I would also seek to go into the communities and form partnerships.
I want to focus on school stability by improving school safety and addressing tardiness/absenteeism concerns. I also want to provide educator support by establishing incentives and supportive training opportunities. Finally, I want to increase opportunities for college & career readiness by providing more tutoring opportunities & more partnerships with the business community and universities.

Baltimore City students deserve fair access to quality education. Historical inequities have left many schools underfunded. The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future gives us a roadmap to fix this. I support reviewing how poverty-based and weighted funding is applied to ensure every student has the resources and opportunities to succeed.
Maryland’s schools risk prioritizing tests over learning, focusing on English and math while sidelining arts and CTE that connect knowledge across subjects. This narrow approach can limit student growth and teacher innovation. I support a student-centered, equitable curriculum that fosters critical thinking, hands-on learning, and multiple pathways to success.
Schools exist to serve the needs of communities, and their value is measured by how well students strengthen those communities. Family and community engagement depends on meaningful outcomes, and boards of education must operate transparently. Education is not an ivory tower—it is a public trust that thrives when it reflects and responds to the people it serves.
While Baltimore City is my focus, these challenges extend statewide and nationally. We must rebuild school climate and culture by restoring trust, accountability, fairness, and public service. By supporting both students and educators who sustain our communities. With thoughtful governance and a compassionate approach, we can create environments where every school community can truly thrive.

I will be glad to support any policies that ensure the funding of public education. My greatest concern, however, is that money is currently managed very poorly by the school system. We currently have a budget of over a billion dollars and yet we still have schools with no working HVAC systems and no drinking water.
I believe that we need to raise the level of expectation in our public high schools. We must set passing state tests as a requirement for all students. This will help ensure that the level of instruction in public schools is at or above standard.
My phone number is 443.422.5589. Anyone that would like to discuss school board policy can feel free to call me anytime. I intend to speak directly to the people and make sure everyone knows what is discussed/decided in school board meetings.
My main priorities are Accessibility, Accountability, and Achievement. Accessibility means call me anytime (443.422.5589). Accountability means that I will make sure the general public knows any and every thing that happens in school board meetings. Achievement means that we are going to raise the level of expectation in the classroom for students and teachers.

Baltimore must fully implement the Blueprint without delay. I oppose vouchers that drain already scarce public funds. Historically under-resourced communities need more investment - in wraparound services, reliable transportation, and facilities that can serve as community anchors. It is time to fund the unfunded mandates we ask our schools to provide. Money should flow in, not out.
I support rigorous, accurate, evidence-based curriculum. I oppose politically motivated removal of history, health, or science content. Baltimore's schools need stronger career and technical pathways alongside academic tracks. Every student should graduate with real options - whether college, a trade, or direct employment. Curriculum should reflect our students' lives and futures.
I will push for plain-languag public dashboards on budget execution and performance, so families have real information, not polished reports that hide the truth. I support quarterly community briefings and board meetings accessible in time, location, and language. Parents, students, teachers, and communities are partners whose input must shape outcomes and shouldn't be treated as a nuisance.
My priorities are reliable student transportation, safe school buildings, and expanded after-school programming. I am a parent of two children in Baltimore City schools and a successful operator who has managed complex systems at scale. I am not running to start a political career. I am running to fix what families feel every day and to make every decision visible, measurable, and accountable.
