I am a Navy veteran, attorney, and small business owner who has lived in District 2 for nearly a decade. Every week, I volunteer to provide free legal help to people who cannot afford a lawyer. My career in national security taught me to break down hard problems and find real solutions. District 2 needs a council member who puts residents first, not party politics, and that is why I am running.
Good governance starts with listening. I will hold regular town halls and make myself available to every resident in the district. When county needs and district interests conflict, I will be honest about the trade-offs and explain my reasoning. My loyalty is to the people of District 2, not to any party or special interest, and every vote I take will be based on what is practical, fair, and affordable.
New development should not be approved until we know our roads, schools, water, sewer, and emergency services can handle it. At the same time, I will push to upgrade infrastructure so we can say yes to growth in the right places. Before voting on major zoning or land use changes, I will hold town halls and reach out to residents directly. New growth should pay for itself, not burden the people already living here.
I will cut red tape for small businesses and speed up permitting. I will back workforce programs that help residents find good jobs in fields growing near District 2, like defense, cybersecurity, and healthcare. A strong local economy means making it easier to open and run a business here, not handing out tax breaks to big developers at the expense of the people who live here.
I support zoning reform that allows more types of housing where our roads, schools, and services can support it. I will work to cut permitting costs and delays so homes can be built faster and at lower cost. Where infrastructure falls short, I will push to upgrade it so we can grow. Working families, first responders, and teachers should be able to live in the communities they serve without mandates that drive up costs for everyone else.
The biggest challenge in Anne Arundel County is managing growth without losing what makes this a great place to live, all while keeping it affordable. In parts of District 2, our roads, schools, and public safety resources are already stretched thin. I will push for impact studies before new development is approved, full funding for police and fire, and honest accountability for how we spend education dollars. Growth should lift our communities, not overwhelm them.

I’m running for County Council to ensure Anne Arundel County is affordable and equitable for all. Growing up here and attending Glen Burnie High, I saw disparities in investment. Professionally, I’ve worked in policy at the Maryland General Assembly and AARP, analyzing legislation and developing solutions on healthcare, aging, and livable communities, which has prepared me to deliver informed, results-driven leadership.
I will balance County-wide priorities with district needs through transparency, data, and strong community engagement. Listening to residents, workers, and stakeholders is key. My decisions will focus on long-term benefits while ensuring district voices are heard, with an emphasis on fairness, equity, and policies that strengthen the entire County.
I will evaluate land use based on affordability, infrastructure capacity, environmental impact, and community benefit. Growth must align with transportation, schools, and services. I will actively seek resident input through town halls, surveys, and community partnerships to ensure development reflects the needs and priorities of those who live there.
I support workforce development, small business growth, and infrastructure investment to expand economic opportunity. This includes job training, supporting key industries, and improving transportation access. When residents can live closer to where they work, it strengthens local businesses, reduces costs, and improves overall quality of life.
I will focus on expanding housing options at all income levels, including workforce and affordable housing, by supporting smart, transit-oriented development and removing barriers to responsible growth. Development must align with infrastructure like schools and transportation. I also support efforts to reduce housing cost burdens, along with first-time homebuyer programs and caregiver support, to help residents, especially older adults, remain in their homes.
Anne Arundel County faces interconnected challenges: affordability, infrastructure, and aging in place. Rising housing and living costs are pushing families out, while development often outpaces schools, transportation, and services. At the same time, older adults need support to remain in their homes. I will focus on expanding affordable housing, aligning growth with infrastructure, and supporting caregivers while helping reduce cost burdens for older adults.

I am running for the Anne Arundel County Council to give back to the community that raised me. Having served as Chair of the Anne Arundel County Public Library Board of Trustees, as well as a member of the Glen Burnie Revitalization Implementation Task Force and the Plan 2040 General Development Citizen Advisory Committee, I believe serving on the County Council will give me the opportunity to continue building a stronger community and a better future for all.
I will lead with my values of collaboration, listening carefully, and striving to meet diverse interests by tailoring policy solutions to the unique needs of our communities. As Chair of the Anne Arundel County Library Board of Trustees, I helped lead the strategic direction and vision of a system that serves our residents by bringing different perspectives together to achieve a common mission and deliver services that meet the needs of our communities.
As a former member of the Plan 2040 Citizen Advisory Committee, I understand the importance of resident involvement in shaping land use policies that affect our communities. Because of this, I will continue to empower planning advisory commissions, rely on data (such as school capacity and traffic flow) to guide decisions, and actively seek input from district residents through community engagement events.
Both employment opportunities and the standard of living can be improved with transit-oriented development, as it promotes attainable housing and attracts businesses to grow in well-planned, concentrated areas.
I believe we should be intentional about transit-oriented development. Transforming 7409 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard into the Villages at Sawmill Creek is an example of the type of project we should promote to expand housing options.
Fully meeting budget needs in the face of federal and state constraints will require Anne Arundel County to think creatively about how to grow its economic base so that we can fully fund public education and the services residents rely on in their daily lives. I will support strategies that expand revenue opportunities while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
