I have 30+ years as a sworn deputy at the Allegany County Sheriff's Office. I have been in Administration and Supervision for over 15 years. I currently hold the rank of Major.
The biggest challenge I will face will be manpower issues and retaining quality trained staff. I will address the challenges by seeking grants and other funding sources.
I think that we already have a positive relationship with Allegany County citizens. For example, Shop with a Cop and National Night Out. However, I would increase more of a patrol presence in the towns of Allegany County to continue to build this positive relationship.
*Enforce drug crime and enhance treatment and education at the detention center. *Create more collaboration and combined enforcement efforts with outside partners. *Be fiscally responsible and professional earning community trust like I have for the last 30+ years as a deputy with Allegany County Sheriff's Office.

I bring more than a decade of combined military and law enforcement service, along with leadership in community resource ministry and work with national addiction recovery programs. Those experiences have given me a broad view of public safety—enforcement, prevention, and restoration—and prepared me to lead the Sheriff’s Office with discipline, compassion, and clear purpose.
The greatest challenge will be leading the agency into the future while challenging outdated assumptions. Public safety requires being firm with crime while also recognizing the value of second chances. My approach will focus on clear standards, accountability, and practical partnerships that reduce crime while helping people move toward better choices.
Strong relationships build safer communities. I will expand partnerships with faith-based groups, recovery programs, civic organizations, and other community networks. The Sheriff’s Office must maintain open two-way communication and clear expectations for community engagement so residents see their deputies as accessible, responsive, and invested in the wellbeing of the county.
My priorities are raising professional standards within the Sheriff’s Office, ensuring taxpayer resources are used efficiently, and strengthening community involvement in public safety. When deputies are well trained, expectations are clear, and citizens are engaged partners, the result is a safer and more resilient community.
