La Crosse County Supervisor District 17
The County Board of Supervisors is the legislative body in every county in Wisconsin. The county board adopts an annual county budget, resolutions and local ordinances (laws). They also establish programs and public services for the county. Voters elect supervisors to represent their supervisory district for a two-year term in nonpartisan elections. There are no term limits.

Community Involvement
YWCA Board Member, La Crosse Community Fridge Volunteer, Director on Local Housing Documentary
As a lifelong La Crosse County resident, I am deeply connected to this community and passionate about the role local governance can play in bettering conditions for working families. Supporting my community has been the driving force behind my commitment to a career in human services and it is that same passion for helping others that has led me to run for La Crosse County Board.
I would like to see La Crosse County support aging in place through the implementation of home accessibility grants. These grants would fund in-home accessibility modifications that would allow more people to remain in their homes over restrictive care facilities. I would also like to see county resources directed toward the expansion of public transit. While the MTU does cover small parts of my Onalaska district, the areas it does cover are especially limited.
We are experiencing an affordability crisis spurred by issues like rising housing costs and lack of transportation access. These issues must be addressed at all levels of government and should be a prime focus of policy efforts in La Crosse County.
If elected, I would advocate for my placement onto the Planning, Resources, and Development Committee with the goal of changing outdated zoning regulations to meet the growing need for affordable housing. These changes would largely focus on prioritizing high-density development through mixed-use and multi-family homes. This focus on high-density development has the added benefit of being more suitable for growing public transit. In addition, I would seek to end discrimination against section 8 voucher holders by designating them as a protected group. This would make it illegal for landlords to refuse to rent to someone on the basis of their status as a voucher holder, ensuring that less available housing sits vacant and unused.
