What is the most important issue facing Dunn County and how would you address it?
What is the second most important issue facing Dunn County and how would you address it?
What is the third most important issue facing Dunn County and how would you address it?
What are your two top priority areas of concern in the upcoming budget and how would you address them?
Infrastructure & Public Safety: Dunn County ranks 8th in Wisconsin for centerline miles maintained, with 424.72 miles of highway. While we’ve improved our road replacement cycle from 31 years down to 26 years in 2025, this is still above the ideal 20–25 year lifespan of a roadway. Aging roads directly impact the safety of our residents and the speed of emergency services. To address this, I support using long-term maintenance schedules to catch problems early and prevent expensive emergency repairs. I will also continue to push state and federal leaders for funding that matches our high infrastructure burden. My goal is to ensure our roads are safe for families and that our first responders have the resources they need to reach you quickly.
Health and Human Services: We must take care of our neighbors, especially seniors, veterans, and families. There is a growing need for mental health support and crisis services in our community. I will address this by working to secure more state support for programs like Adult Protective Services and Birth to Three. My focus is on making sure these services are run efficiently and remain a reliable safety net. As a member of the Health and Human Services Board, I am committed to a "people-first" approach that provides help where it’s needed most while remaining fiscally responsible with your tax dollars. Ensuring these programs are fully supported helps keep our community healthy and stable for the long term.
Safe and Quality Housing: Most residents agree that finding a good place to live is a major challenge. This affects everyone from young people starting careers to seniors looking to stay in the community. To address this, I want to review and update our county zoning rules to remove unnecessary "red tape" that makes building too difficult or expensive. By making our county more attractive for development and clearing up myths about what affordable housing looks like, we can create more options for our local workforce. My goal is to help our rural towns grow in a healthy, sustainable way that preserves our community's character while providing enough homes for the next generation.
My two top priorities are fixing our roads and managing debt:
Road Funding: Our highways will only improve if we consistently invest in them. I support a balanced budget that prioritizes road maintenance and equipment so we can continue to lower our replacement cycle toward that 20–25 year goal.
Debt Management: Being fiscally responsible means we should pay off more debt each year than we take on. I will continue to support our 5-year capital plan, which helps us plan for big projects in advance rather than reacting to surprises. This transparency ensures we keep the county’s finances stable without overburdening taxpayers.
