I love Waterford. As a little girl, I attended St. Mary’s School and was fascinated by the history and charm of our historic village. I moved here with my family 14 years ago and am so appreciative of this community for its beauty, walkability (my dog, Abby and I walk it every day), but most of all because of the amazing people who live here. If elected, I plan to use my executive leadership and management experience to implement initiatives focused on enhancing our community’s quality of life, strengthening our community, and fostering collaboration with our village's partners.
Code enforcement: Poor and inconsistent code enforcement has created risks for residents and increased danger for firefighters and other emergency responders. · Allocate additional resources to this important role; conduct an assessment to identify which codes need updating and what resources are necessary; be proactive by providing clear information of expectations, standards, and violations; build partnerships with community organizations and volunteers to support residents who need help Collaboration: Build stronger, more productive partnerships with Town and State officials and secure more resources for our Village through consistent outreach, dialogue and advocacy.
So many residents want to pitch in and help our community - consistent communication and dialog is needed! The Village Office hours will be extended, and information will be shared in a variety of ways to foster engagement and ensure transparency. 1)The website will provide up-to-date information about issues such as public meetings, volunteer opportunities, budgets, emergencies, events, and village highlights. Information will also be posted on social media. Notices of public meetings and events will also be posted strategically throughout the village. 2) Resident input is key - a process will be established to gather feedback through focus groups and planning sessions that will shape a vision and actionable plans for our Village.
