I bring 16 years of governance experience from serving in the past on a local school board. I was responsible for fiduciary oversight, policy development, strategic planning, and community accountability. I understand the role of a board member is to provide thoughtful oversight, ensure financial stewardship, and safeguard the organization’s mission.
Professionally, I serve as Director of Laboratory Programs for a nonprofit humanitarian organization, overseeing programmatic laboratory initiatives, regulatory compliance, and quality systems that directly support access to quality healthcare. As a Board-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS(ASCP)) with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, I bring clinical insight into healthcare operations and patient safety.
My combined experience in governance and healthcare leadership prepares me to contribute responsibly and effectively to the long-term strength and quality of our local hospital.
Our hospital is doing many things well, and one of my first priorities would be to listen and learn so that I have a better understanding of current strengths and challenges. Thoughtful governance begins with understanding what is working and where improvement is needed.
I am especially interested in strengthening access to high-quality healthcare, including specialty care, so people within our community can receive needed services close to home and that equitable care for all residents is provided.
Fiscal responsibility and strategic planning are also important priorities. Maintaining financial strength allows the hospital to recruit quality providers, invest in technology, and plan responsibly for future growth.
By building on what is already strong and addressing identified gaps, we can position our hospital to serve our community well into the future.
