I am running for Mayor because I believe that it is important for the next Mayor to have proven leadership results and direct experience in working with the city. I have served two terms (8 years) as a councilmember and also the Mayor Pro Tem all 8 years.

Expanding attainable homeownership opportunities has been my top priority since serving on the Planning Commission and now on City Council. I firmly believe this challenge is solvable, but it requires a focused and intentional strategy. We must create conditions that attract homebuilders back into the market to construct homes that working families can afford. That includes streamlining processes, encouraging innovation, and being open to alternative building materials and emerging construction methods that can reduce costs without compromising quality. By embracing smart growth and practical solutions, we can bring more attainable housing options to our community and help more residents achieve the dream of homeownership.
I am running for Mayor because our city needs new leadership and a fresh perspective. Over the past eight years, our approach to growth has too often been developer-first, relying heavily on incentives. While growth is important, it must be carefully managed, purposeful, and always centered on the long-term benefit of residents.

My priorities are expanding attainable homeownership, strengthening local industry recruitment, and bringing more quality jobs to our community. We must ensure that economic development supports residents first and builds a strong, sustainable future for our city.

I have a deep record of service in Lee’s Summit as a volunteer, & member of multiple city boards and commissions. I served as Planning Commissioner and currently a City Councilmember.

As a business owner of 32 years I am prepared to lead effectively negotiate respectfully, evaluate issues, collaborate with others, have an action-oriented approach, and deliver results for our residents.
