Public Elected Offices Held
Garden City Board of Alderman
Incumbent? YES or NO
Yes
Fiscal responsibility is the most important thing facing Garden City, and with my knowledge of municipal finance, I intend to insure the city is being as fiscally responsible as possible.
On top of being a municipal accountant as my day job, I also worked as a city auditor for four years, auditing small towns just like Garden City, so I do know what fiscal responsibility looks like.
Complacency. I believe people can become stuck in a rut of doing the same things over and over and not expecting change. When a community isn't moving forward with improvement, it's falling behind. I intend to push for the necessary changes that people want in their community. Better infrastructure, better public facilities (parks, community center, etc), and a better sense of safety.
I've been interested in getting a little more involved in politics because voting isn't the only way to exercise civil duty. I wanted to start at the municipal level and get involved in my community to try to help institute change needed for improvement. Beyond that, who knows. I may want to pursue county, state, or even federal office. I'm just a citizen who is driven by a desire to serve those who wish to have their voices heard.
