1). Budget: board members have a fiduciary obligation to be responsible stewards of taxpayer money. 2). Superintendent oversight: work collaboratively with our new superintendent, Kyle Gibbs, as he establishes both his short- and long-term goals for the district. 3). Community engagement: our schools should reflect the values and priorities of the community they serve.
I recently retired after 11 years of service to the Northwest School District as the benefit specialist, where I administered employee benefits. I participated in insurance meetings and attended board meetings, gaining insight into district operations. I also earned my School Business Specialist certification through MOASBO, strengthening my expertise in school finance.

I am a parent of two children in NW R-1. My children have been involved in the Parents as Teachers program and attended the Early Childhood Center before entering elementary and now middle school. I want every family in our district to have the same opportunity and experiences my family has had. I believe in our school and I love serving on the school board. It’s an honor.

I will be an advocate for each student's access to a high-quality education while championing our outstanding teachers and staff and the great work done in our schools.
As a parent with experience in private, public and home-school education, I have a well-rounded understanding of diverse learning environments. I will work with the superintendent, teachers and fellow board members to champion every student and ensure a safe, supportive and welcoming school community.

I am a graduate of Northwest and have lived in the district most of my life. I have a child who attends the high school. I have worked with district teachers and staff on community projects in my role as branch manager at the Jefferson County Library. As a member of the Chamber of Commerce, I have worked with school board members and superintendents.

Having spent 19 years teaching in the public school system as an educator, I respect educators, staff and the critical role they play in serving students and families. That experience has shaped my understanding of the classroom and the needs of teachers and students. I also understand the responsibility and need for parental collaboration and cooperation.
