As a resident of Wellesley for 10 years, I believe it’s important to be a welcoming, well-run, and accessible community that encourages its citizens to participate in its governance. It is vital we continue to have a strong business sector, work towards being a net zero town, and encourage young people to settle here by providing superior education, while ensuring the well being of our seniors.

Wellesley could focus on strengthening community connection, transparency, and trust in local decision-making. As a Town Meeting Member, I hope to help in to raising awareness of issues affecting residents, fostering collaboration among community groups, and help build a more cohesive, inclusive, and supportive town where all feel heard, respected, and valued.

TMM for past 5 years, Past chair for Trails Committee, Advisory Committee finishing 3 year term.
Working with various Town committees I have become familiar with the frequent debates regarding land .… what space should be developed for housing and what space should be preserved for forest or other recreational uses.
The Planning Board, Affordable Housing Trust, NRC and the CPC need to work closely together to thoughtfully develop plans that address these issues earlier in the process.
Relevant Experience
Town Meeting Member for 3 years; member of RIO Task Force
Measured growth of housing for residents of various family needs and income levels;
Support for our schools in a fiscally responsible manner;
Support for our senior residents by expanding programming and use of the Senior Center;
Evaluation of capital projects to prioritize most needed uses over those with less urgent uses of town funds;
Encourage imaginative use of natural resources.
Wellesley needs to continue to be a community that is fiscally responsible while acknowledging our diverse community of townspeople. As a town we need to review our efforts in educational excellence, & providing a variety of housing and transportation options. Our town initiatives around climate change & infrastructure support are just a beginning to help our entire community have quality of life

These are my top priorities for Wellesley:
1) Support our local public schools by working closely with school board members to achieve better outcomes for our students.
2) Push for more improvements to our roads (especially Benvenue St)
3) Keep Wellesley safe for our entire community
4) Save MassBay Forest - prevent the development of this natural resource

Over the next five years, Wellesley’s critical priorities should include appropriately funding our schools, protecting natural resources, advancing sustainability goals and strengthening governance with long-range financial planning. These goals reflect coordinated efforts amongst its residents and show how Wellesley works together to address its needs.
