As DuPage County Treasurer, I have extensive experience leading a critical, highly operational office, including successfully managing two major system conversions and multiple accounting and treasury implementations. I hold a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting), am a CPA, and a former public accounting firm partner with deep expertise in accounting, finance, and business management. Additional credentials include a Certificate in Governmental Accounting Management, Wharton’s Advanced Investment Management Program, and Harvard Law School’s Program for Advanced Trustee Studies. I currently chair the IMRF Investment Committee and serve on the IREIT board. I am active in several civic and nonprofit organizations.
Throughout my tenure, I have advanced our mission to collect, distribute, and safeguard public funds with integrity and efficiency. I remain committed to building on this foundation as we move forward with key initiatives that strengthen financial stewardship and accountability. Expense control remains a top priority amid ongoing economic uncertainty. We are expanding the emailed tax bill program to reduce printing and postage costs while maintaining high service levels. A second priority is keeping pace with the shift toward electronic payments. As payment methods evolve, the Treasurer’s Office will continue adopting secure, efficient electronic payment technologies to enhance taxpayer convenience and access.
I will continue to operate with a strong focus on responsiveness to DuPage County taxpayers, with an increased emphasis on using technology thoughtfully to enhance service and efficiency. We will respond promptly to taxpayers by phone and email, while looking for ways technology can help staff provide faster and clearer information. The goal is not only responsiveness, but consistency and clarity in every taxpayer interaction. Operationally, the office will always promote a culture of continuous improvement and will identify opportunities to operate more efficiently while maintaining strong controls. The difference will be an office that remains stable and experienced, while continuously evolving to meet taxpayer expectations.
To increase resident engagement in budget planning, the Treasurer’s Office can build on its role as taxpayers’ first point of contact by using our website, bill inserts, and payment channels to promote participation. Clear explanations of how revenues support services, interactive online tools, and virtual Q&A sessions can enhance transparency and drive involvement. Our Taxpayer Engagement Team will continue directing residents to relevant budget resources and information.
