Affordability and increasing healthcare costs in DuPage County are two important issues. The county needs to be creative in finding new sources of revenue to take the burden off homeowners and existing businesses. District 1 is uniquely located near O’Hare airport; and with the construction of the 390 and 490 tollways in 2027 the county needs to be ready to take advantage of these new opportunities. New businesses offering high paying jobs will be looking to locate themselves near the airport, which should bring in new tax dollars and jobs to the county. The county needs to do more to promote first-time home ownership and small business development. More grant funds made available and promoted to entice young people to move into the county.
The budget needs to prioritize access and funding to first time home ownership, small business grants and Access DuPage. With the Affordable Care Act subsidies being taken away, the county along with its private partners, can step in and provide essential medical care for our communities. This is an affordable healthcare option for uninsured DuPage residents. The county should work with the local Townships and cities to promote new ideas to attract new residents and businesses.
The county plays a pivotal role in maintaining secure and accessible elections by managing the essential funding, infrastructure, and staffing that supports the local election authority. The boards allocates funds for updated voting machines and paying poll workers. The Board is responsible for securing accessible polling places which includes applying for and managing grants. All of these play an essential role in protecting our elections in the county.
Decisions regarding the regulation or support of data centers in the county are guided by
a balance of infrastructure capacity, environmental impact, economic benefits, and community character. It is important to balance the support of Data Centers and managing green space within the county. It will be important to have feedback from the communities through town hall events to gain feedback on where they stand on the issue. Issues such as energy consumption, noise, air quality, and the risks of natural disasters such as flooding will impact communities. Everyone involved needs to have their voices heard when it comes to major developments within their communities.
While I would never support services from the county that it cannot afford to pay for, I would be an advocate for new growth by championing new development to bring in additional revenue. Local government is about providing services and grant funds to help residents and businesses enjoy their quality of life within the county. Services should always look to be protected and enhanced when possible. Ideas such as a senior/disabled lawn cutting and snow removal program, a handyman service, and youth job programs are all services I would support. Working with other local government to create new services is another area I would look to create opportunities for residents and businesses.
Keeping taxes in line while maintaining the quality level of services provided by the County; such as food assistance programs, continuing to provide top-level public safety, and the call for affordable housing.
With uncertainty of future funding, I am committed to planning ahead in order to deliver high level services while maintaining budget adherence. I will explore intergovernmental agreements, cost-sharing options, seek competitive bids, closely review spending and ask the tough questions. My experience as a Realtor, business manager, Alderman & volunteer board member, deepens my understanding of what it means to represent people and uphold the public trust. I am devoted to promoting growth and delivering quality services to all.
Our priority should be maintaining our AAA rating and holding the line on taxes.
This allows us the opportunity to obtain lower borrowing costs, demonstrates our ability to meet financial obligations, practice stability, have strong economic policies and a serious stake in our fiscal health.
Promoting economic development is key. When we plan ahead, live within our means, work with intergovernmental agencies, form public private partnerships and communicate our needs to State and Federal agencies, the path will lead to fiscal sustainability. We should be diligent with spending and focus on ways to save. These practices will hold us accountable and allow us to deliver high-level services to all. Accountability is the key to affordability.
The County Board provides the appropriations to the clerk’s office to confirm that sufficient funds are available to run fair elections. It is the responsibility of the Clerk to ensure that fair elections are run and the Clerk must comply with the County’s financial policies and procedures. I fully support that the County should ensure all elected officials follow the law. It is the duty of the Clerk’s office to secure the public trust and make sure funds are managed with integrity and in the most transparent fashion. Operating under less than the highest standards of government accounting is unacceptable.
Data Center demand is surging due to AI & digital storage. The subject carries controversy and concerns.
Location is key. The County should set clear zoning codes, permitting rules, create fee structures and make decisions on a case by case basis.
New substations and infrastructure costs should be placed on the data center.
If the County wants to remain competitive, it needs to be pro-active. Communication and coordination with the utilities, State and Federal Regulators and the residents, is key to the decision making process. Major technological shifts bring uncertainty, but also create opportunity. We must act with transparency to ensure growth protects residents, infrastructure and resources while allowing our economy to be competitive
The responsibilities of County Board elected officials are: managing county funds, levying taxes, setting policy and overseeing county departments. Their primary role is to approve annual budgets. Board members take an oath of office which includes faithfully discharging their duties. They are elected to represent their districts and ensure fair and efficient service to residents. Balancing community values and needs with available funding is crucial. It is imperative to know who you are serving and what their needs and expectations are, and to find the most efficient ways to deliver those services. Just as I did during my term as an Elmhurst Alderman, I will uphold the public trust and be a loyal steward of DuPage taxpayer dollars.

As a grassroots leader & a licensed clinical social worker who has served my community for nearly two decades, I’m running for DuPage County Board to put people first. In District 1, working families are facing a deep affordability crisis—rising costs of living, a lack of affordable housing, & unequal access to mental health & social services. I see these struggles every day in my professional work and in my community. My priorities are clear: expanding affordable, accessible mental health care; investing county resources in communities that have been historically underfunded; and fighting for housing stability so families can stay rooted in DuPage County. I believe county government must be transparent, accountable, & driven by community.
DuPage County’s budget should prioritize affordable housing, mental health and social services, public health, and community-based programs. Investing in these areas addresses the root causes of inequality, supports working families, and strengthens public safety by preventing crises before they occur. Funding should also focus on historically under-resourced communities, ensuring transparency and accountability in how dollars are spent. Prioritizing these areas ensures the county meets real community needs, promotes equity, and builds a stronger, healthier, and more resilient District 1 for everyone.
The DuPage County Board plays a key oversight and funding role in secure and accessible elections. While the County Clerk administers elections, the Board approves budgets for staffing, voting equipment, and election infrastructure to ensure ballots are counted accurately and access is broad. Board members can also support expanded early voting, outreach, and transparency, hold contractors accountable, and advocate for equitable, inclusive practices. Board members can work collaboratively with county and state officials to make elections both secure and inclusive for all voters.
I do not support data centers in our County. My decisions will be guided by community health, environmental justice, & long-term sustainability. Data centers consume massive energy, strain infrastructure, & can increase pollution, disproportionately impacting nearby working-class & marginalized communities. Data centers appear to provide local jobs, however, in reality only provide short term opportunities for employment. Promoting sustainable job opportunities for our community as well as focusing on long-term economic development for residents is what I want to focus on. County resources should support projects that strengthen communities, protect public health, & advance a sustainable, just future, not corporate profit.
Balancing services with low taxes means prioritizing equity, efficiency, and progressive revenue. I support keeping taxes manageable for working families while asking corporations to pay their fair share. County resources should be directed to critical services—affordable housing, mental health care, public health, and community support—especially in historically underfunded areas like Addison and Bensenville. By cutting waste, increasing transparency, and investing strategically, we can protect essential services, strengthen communities, and ensure everyone pays their fair share without overburdening working families.

In DuPage, affordability is key. I see our success driven by three interconnected gears: Workforce, Housing, and Transit. It starts by bridging the gap between higher-ed (and the trades) with local workplaces to keep our talent and tax dollars here. Once those careers are launched, we must make it possible for people to plant roots. By championing Attainable Housing and homebuyer incentives, we turn workers into committed community members. Transportation is the final bridge; through NITA, I’ll push for last-mile solutions connecting homes to workplaces to essential services. This creates a happier and healthier district where families can buy their first home and parents spend less time commuting and more time with their families.
Budgeting is about making sure DuPage is a place where our working families can actually afford to live. First, I will prioritize Economic Development, supporting local shops and innovation so we can grow our revenue without hiking tax rates.
But a core goal that tackles the issue of affordability, is to move the needle on attainable housing. I’ll push for a Permanent Revolving Fund to compliment the current Community Sustainability Fund. Instead of giving one-time grants, the county becomes a partner that helps builders create homes at prices our nurses and first responders can actually afford. As these neighbors succeed, their contributions flow back into the fund to help the next family plant roots.
The County Board is the fiscal backbone of our elections, providing the resources needed to keep our democracy secure and accessible. We stand for election integrity by funding modern technology, cybersecurity, and outreach like multilingual ballots and early voting sites.
The Clerk’s office runs the day-to-day operations, and the Board ensures that every dollar spent is accounted for and that vendors are paid on time. The goal is to fund secure, accessible, and inclusive elections. Accountability between the Clerk's office and the Board is paramount. By insisting on transparency, we protect the process and the results. With that, voters can trust their ballot is counted and that the system behind it is run with integrity.
Data centers offer great economic potential, but they can’t come at the expense of our neighbors. My approach is built on "intentional public-private leadership" with four non-negotiable standards for developers: no harm to safety, no loss of property values, no disruption to orderly growth, and full alignment with our master plans. I’m especially concerned about the strain on our water and power grids. While I support development in industrial corridors where it fits, and I am mindful of the economic and workforce benefits these centers provide, we also need state and federal regulations to ensure sustainability. In DuPage, we will protect our residential vision while building a strong economic future.
I balance these needs by viewing our budget through the lens of resilience and return on investment. As a small business owner, I know we build a strong future through discipline and growing our revenue base. My priority is growing and maximizing our resources without increasing the tax rate. By specifically supporting small businesses and high-quality projects, we generate the revenue needed while keeping tax rates low. I will invest in the Community Sustainability Fund as our safety net. Investing in mental health and housing now saves millions in emergency costs later. By focusing on Workforce, Housing, and Transit we build a compassionate community and a responsible budget that doesn't break the bank for our neighbors.
