Why are you running and what are your qualifications?

What do you see as the most pressing issue(s) facing our district and what specific actions will you take to address them?

How will you approach working with legislators who hold different views?

What principles will guide your decisions when voting on the state budget?

If elected, how will you stay accessible and accountable to the people of this district?

I have been honored to represent the 46th District since December 2022. I am running because we are at a critical place where the institutions that support our most vulnerable are being defunded and our educational systems gutted by the federal government. As a state representative I can work on solutions to the problems being created to ensure continued access to the programs and services needed in the 46th District.
Rising grocery prices, utilities, healthcare and loss of funding from the federal government. We need to focus on cutting unnecessary expenditures to try and fill the gaps created by the arbitrary and capricious federal cuts. Data Centers are also of great concern in my district.
I already do. I am extremely proud of the work Rep Hauter (R) and I did together last year to ensure that insurance companies don't limit access to anesthesia. There are many instances of my working with the other side of the aisle in my role as the Chair of State Government Administration. The collegiality in Springfield is very different than what you see in D.C.
What is best for my district and its priorities, Affordability, education, healthcare, maintaining infrastructure, good paying jobs and support for seniors and the disabled.
Since being elected, I have held over 30 townhalls, I host a coffee and conversation twice a year. We attend and host myriad local events throughout the district and are very responsive to constituent concerns and inquiries. We are scheduled for 3 more town halls this year.

For me this is a call from God. I'm running for State Rep District 46 because I spend everyday walking with people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. As a chaplain, I see firsthand what families are carrying the financial pressures, the gaps in care, the stress of navigating systems that don’t always feel built for them. I’m stepping forward because our community deserves a representative who listens deeply, • “For over 35 years, I’ve served families in this community as a real estate broker, helping people make some of the biggest decisions of their lives. Since 2009, I’ve also served as a minister, and today I work as a chaplain supporting individuals and families at the end of life.
property taxes and cost of living• as your Representative might Advocate for state-level property tax relief programs or expanded exemptions for seniors and working families. Support reforms to school funding formulas to reduce reliance on local property taxes. Push for efficiency audits of local and state agencies to reduce duplicative spending.

Healthcare Access and Affordability. As candidate might propose Support legislation to lower premium insurance, prescription drug costs and increase price transparency. Expand funding for local clinics, mobile health units, and preventive care programs. Advocate for improved Medicaid reimbursement rates to keep providers in-network.
My approach is to listen first, understand the ‘why’ behind someone’s position, and look for areas where our goals overlap. When we focus on solving real problem it’s property taxes, public safety, education, or economic growth, there’s usually more room for agreement than people expect. At the same time, I’m clear about my own values and the priorities of District 46. Collaboration doesn’t mean compromising the needs of the people I represent. It means finding responsible, practical paths forward even when perspectives differ. Illinois works best when legislators build relationships, communicate honestly, and stay focused on results. I’m committed to working with anyone who shares that commitment, regardless of party.”

Listening to the community Budget decisions should reflect the needs of the people who live here. I will stay in close contact with residents, local officials, school leaders, and community organizations to ensure the state budget supports our district’s priorities.
“Representing the people of Illinois’ 46th District means being present, reachable, and transparent every single day—not just during campaign season. If elected, I will stay accessible and accountable every single day.
