Illinois House District 18
In Illinois, legislative power is vested in the General Assembly consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives. The Illinois House of Representatives is made of 118 representatives elected from individual legislative districts. To be eligible to serve as a member of the General Assembly, a person must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years old, and for the two years preceding the election or appointment a resident of the district represented. Illinois Representatives are elected for two year terms with no term limits. A state legislator in the General Assembly represents constituents from their district and is responsible for creating state laws. Constitution of the State of Illinois, Article IV, The Legislature.
