I am a 30-year resident of McLean County, where I raised my family and teach over 700 students as a Unit 5 elementary music teacher. I represent East Bloomington/Normal on the County Board, serving on the Justice, Rules, and Executive Committees in addition to leading the Health Committe. I also serve on the Board of Health and the Joint Education Committee.

Elected in 2022 in a district that had never elected a Democrat, I’ve worked across party lines to protect mental health and public safety funding, support lower tax levies, and secure pay raises for county employees.

I was selected for the 2026 One Voice Task Force to advocate in Washington, DC for critical local projects, including replacing a failing water system in my district.
Tax Levies Mental Health/Access to Care Affordable Housing Job Growth
Tax Levies – Affordability is my top priority. With rising living costs, I have always voted to lower the property tax levy and find savings for District 10 to keep our community affordable.

Mental Health and Access to Care – As Health Committee Chair, I work closely with healthcare professionals and support data-driven goals aligned with the Community Health Needs Assessment.

Affordable Housing – McLean County needs housing at all levels, especially affordable options. I partner with groups like BNEDC and the BN Community Land Trust to advance both innovative and proven housing strategies.

Job Growth – My vote to implement a Project Labor Agreement was one of my proudest. I look forward to continue partnering with union labor.

I believe that all of the ranked issues are important. To begin to address the needs of our citizens, it boils down to finding the root causes of the problems in our community. Cost of living being the main factor. Therefore any agenda would need to tackle taxation, spending, and ability to find good jobs in our county. We need to find ways to make life easier and that involves lowering the amount of stress. If we accomplish that then we hopefully reduce the need for health care across the board. Analyzing the budget would be priority one. We need to find ways to cut costs so that we can potentially cut taxes. Second priority would be to promote our community. We need as many solid, well paying jobs for our county as possible.
