The Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of the county and is entrusted with protecting life and property while upholding the Constitution and the laws of the State of Arkansas. The office is responsible for enforcing criminal laws, investigating crimes, operating and maintaining the county jail, serving civil and criminal process for the courts, and providing security for the judicial system. The Sheriff also leads deputies and staff, coordinates with local, state, and federal partners, and works closely with the community to prevent crime, promote public safety, and ensure that justice is carried out fairly, professionally, and with integrity throughout Jefferson County.
I bring over two decades of progressive law enforcement and public service experience to the Office of Sheriff. I have served in multiple leadership capacities within the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, including patrol operations, criminal investigations, and administrative command. As Sheriff, I oversee personnel, detention operations, budgets, and public safety initiatives while working collaboratively with local, state, and federal partners. My experience includes crisis management, strategic planning, and community-based policing. These experiences, combined with my commitment to integrity, accountability, and service, have prepared me to effectively lead and protect the citizens of Jefferson County.
My priority is to continue strengthening public safety through proactive policing, modern training, and strong community partnerships. Over the past several years, we have made meaningful progress in reducing crime, improving accountability, and enhancing the professionalism of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. If re-elected, I will build on that progress by expanding advanced training, strengthening collaboration with local, state, and federal partners, and investing in technology that improves officer effectiveness and transparency. By supporting our deputies and maintaining open communication with the community, we will continue making Jefferson County safer for everyone.
