I am a Christian Conservative who loves God and our Country and do not like what I have seen for many years now. I want our great nation to return to honoring the God that we were founded on in our laws and our culture. 38T in debt tells us that our government is way too big and way too involved in our lives.
My strongest competency is business acumen. I've been in multi-unit Retail Leadership for many years. I understand building and working with others to operate within a budget. I also understand traditional family values and their importance to our social structure. I'm married to my wife Judy, and we just celebrated our 36th Anniversary and we have 4 successful children.
Our economy and our Godless culture. I believe we need to create an Economic Trade and Energy Zone here in South Texas. From the Port of Corpus to the Port of Brownsville, we have the Energy, the Ports, and the workers. I will work to end the "permit purgatory" and offer tax incentives for companies to move manufacturing to South Texas. I will also fight to defend life and to make adoption more accessible and affordable.
America First! I will stand with our President in delivering Trade and Foreign policy that line up with the America First agenda.
I would advocate for exiting the United Nations immediately and would fight to ensure that our relationships with other nations would be based on strategic alliances and transactional.

What motivated me to run for congress was my commitment to the people and communities of South Texas. I spent 12 years working for two Members of Congress, and I saw firsthand how much policy in Washington affects families, workers, students, and small businesses here at home.
Unlike other candidates who are just getting to know the district, I've lived in these communities for many decades. I know our neighborhoods, our challenges, and our strengths.
I'm running because South Texas deserves a representative who understands our region at a grassroot level. This is not about ambition for me, it is about service, responsibility, and making sure our families, veterans and workers have an experience advocate representing them in Washington.
My strongest qualification for this office is my nearly twelve years of experience working in Congress for two different Members, where I helped constituents navigate federal agencies, and built relationships across local, state, and federal partners. I understand how Congress works - not in theory, but through years of hands-on service to the people of South Texas.
I lived in Brownsville for many years, I lived four years in Harlingen during my high school years, and I have been in Corpus Christi for 13 years; working closely with constituents.
The combination of congressional experience, deep local roots, and commitment to service, uniquely prepares me to advocate effectively for South Texas on day one.
The number one concern I hear from residents across South Texas is affordability. People are worried about the rising cost of living. Families tell me they are doing everything right - working hard, budgeting carefully - yet it is getting harder to keep up. Groceries, housing, healthcare, utilities, insurance, and even basic necessities cost more, and paycheck don't seem to stretch as far as they used to.
My response is that Washington needs to refocus on the everyday economics of family life. I will prioritize policies that lower costs - supporting domestic energy and supply chain to reduce prices, encouraging competition to bring down prescription drug and insurance cost, and tax relief for working families and small businesses.
Other than affordability, my top three priorities are border security, improving local infrastructure, and energy independence.
First border security. Our communities want a secure and orderly border. I support stronger enforcement, better technology and staffing, and reforms that stop the illegal crossing while ensuring local communities and law enforcement are not overwhelmed.
Second, infrastructure. From flooding to drainage to roads and ports. South Texas needs federal investment that actually reaches our neighborhoods.
Third, energy independence. I will champion American energy production to lower costs, strengthen our national security, and expand good-paying jobs in South Texas.

Our air, water, and land are being poisoned by big polluters, while the U.S. wages wars and coups for oil, all so a few banks, billionaires, and corporations can profit.
Rather than working for big donors or billionaires, I want to represent our community – to invest in our people instead of unjust foreign wars. Let’s stand up for our kids, our public schools, Medicare for All, affordable housing, and everything we need to be healthier and happier.
Data centers, chemical plants, the planned LNG export terminals, and the SpaceX launch site near Brownsville threaten our South Texas way of life. Let’s invest in cheap clean renewable energy like solar and wind with utility-scale batteries, and end the dirty warmongering fossil fuel industry.
I’m a U.S. Army combat veteran, and after the military I had a second career as a classroom teacher. I’ve seen U.S. foreign policy up close, in Europe and the Middle East, and I’ve also worked with thousands of students and families here in South Texas. These experiences showed me the huge impacts government policies have, both good and bad.
I am incorruptible because I don't care about power or money, I care about good policies for a better future for our people and our planet.
Green Party candidates don’t take campaign donations from corporate PACs or foreign interest lobbyists. I will only accept grassroots donations from individual donors, because I want to represent the people of this district, not big money donors nor billionaires.
The thing I hear about most often from South Texas voters is corruption. A lot of people have told me they feel voting is pointless, and politicians are all corrupt.
I tell them I am running to be a different type of candidate – running without corporate PAC or lobbyist donations, and running with the Green Party, which also doesn’t take corporate PAC or lobbyist donations.
So, I will be able to do something different: be a true representative of our community, not billionaires and corporations.
Abolish ICE, cut military spending by at least 50%, and address global warming impacts that are already harming South Texas (heat domes, heat waves, power outages, droughts, crop failures, and more powerful tropical storms.)
I will work with progressives, centrists, fiscal conservatives, libertarians, and anyone in Congress who agrees that our tax money should be used to invest in our communities, not for harassing and detaining our neighbors at home, nor unjust wars and genocide. A better, more just, more peaceful world is very possible.
Free Palestine, Sudan, Congo, and oppressed people everywhere.

As a son of Corpus Christi and a lifetime resident of South Texas, there is no honor more sacred than serving our region in the United States Congress.
Prior to being elected 10 years ago, I fought for South Texas families and school districts who had been wronged by shady corporations - working to right wrongs in the courtroom and the boardroom. I brought that fight to Washington where I have a proven record of helping our people cut through red tape with federal agencies like the VA, IRS, and Social Security Administration, fighting to lower costs and protect bedrock programs like Social Security and Medicare, and delivering close to $8 billion to support our schools, roads, water infrastructure, and more.
The rising cost of living remains top of mind for South Texans. I’ve voted to reinstate ACA tax credits that lower the cost of health insurance for over 140,000 South Texans and introduced legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs. I am fighting against harmful tariffs and voted against the Big Beautiful Bill that cuts hundreds of billions from Medicaid, Medicare, and leaves hardworking South Texans in the dust.
Assuring our veterans receive care they earned, close to home by building a VA hospital in our region, shortening wait times, and staffing with enough top notch personnel.
Protecting Social Security and Medicare from cuts so our seniors can retire with dignity. We took a big step forward for retirees with the S.S. Fairness Act. We can continue this progress through bills like the S.S. 2100 Act and reversing massive cuts in the Big Beautiful Bill.
Bringing good paying jobs and making education affordable, especially vocational and trade schools. I secured the permits for two LNG terminals at the Port of Brownsville and will continue to support legislation that delivers hundreds of billions so South Texans are equipped for every opportunity.

I am running because our elected representatives have allowed South Texas communities like my hometown of Brownsville to be ravaged by environmental destruction, suppression of workers' rights, ICE immigration raids, and crumbling healthcare and education systems. This critical moment is not just a consequence of Donald Trump, but of a corrupt political system enabled by officials of both Democrat and Republican parties that are beholden to the interests of billionaires and corporations, rather than those of our workers and communities. I run to present a genuine political alternative powered by grassroots mobilization to restore and reflect the collective voice of the people of South Texas.
As a policy PhD and Princeton lecturer, I’ve spent over a decade designing, teaching, and evaluating public policy. Unlike most politicians, I don’t need consultants, lobbyists, or party leadership to tell me what to stand for. My platform is my own—built on evidence, experience, and the voices of working people.
As a Mexican-American who has lived on both sides of the border, I understand that the challenges we face - like climate change, immigration, and corruption - do not respect borders and will not be solved by fear-mongering or division.
What qualifies me to serve is that I bring real expertise without losing my roots. I’ll legislate with competence, independence, and moral clarity, accountable only to the communities I represent.
The number one concern I hear from residents is the skyrocketing cost of living - whether it’s healthcare, housing, groceries, or utilities. People are working harder than ever and still falling behind, and they feel unheard by those in power.
My response is that they're right to be frustrated. Our economy is rigged in favor of corporations and billionaires who use their money to buy politicians and block policies that would actually lower costs, like Medicare for All, stronger worker protections, and fair taxation.
I tell them that the only way this changes is by electing representatives who reject corporate money and mobilizing our communities with democratic engagement and working class solidarity.
My top three priorities are Medicare for All, universal childcare, and affordable housing. I would co-sponsor and fight to pass federal legislation guaranteeing healthcare as a human right through a single-payer system. For childcare, I'd champion a national model based on what New Mexico has done - making childcare free or low-cost by using public funds to cover care for most families while raising wages for providers. For housing, I'd support a federal homes guarantee that funds social housing, enforces rent caps, and reins in corporate landlords. I would also push to raise taxes on corporations and billionaires to expand these programs. Mobilizing communities and unions is key to exerting political pressure needed to realize these goals.
