I was born in Galveston, and raised in Texas City where I still live today. I went to school in Dickinson ISD, and grew up split between my father's house in Texas City and my mother's house in Galveston. In high school I worked as a mover before joining the United States Marine Corps at 18.
Having lived in District 23 for my entire life, I have seen firsthand how state government decisions affect working families. I understand the realities of physical labor, rising costs, and broken healthcare because I have lived them, not because they are political talking points.
I am not running for office as a career politician or as a retirement venture. I am running as someone who is grounded in this district, who understands our people, and who will put in the serious work required to deliver real change. I will be in the communities and neighborhoods of our district reaching out to voters, not donors, and focused on service rather than the best photo opportunity. I have the experience and the drive to learn and navigate the legislative process and hold our government accountable to those it is meant to serve. I am fully prepared to be a credible, competitive nominee and an effective legislator for District 23.
The two most pressing issues facing House District 23 are the rising cost of living for working families, and the continued underfunding of public education.
Families in District 23 are being squeezed by rising housing costs, premiums, healthcare expenses, and utility bills, while wages have failed to keep up. My primary focus will be on expanding healthcare access, shifting the tax burden from the bottom to the top, and opposing anti-consumer policy that disproportionately affects working families. I support closing the Medicaid coverage gap behind 40 other states, protecting and expanding rural and coastal healthcare providers, and ensuring communities in disaster areas get the compensation they deserve.
Public education is the backbone of Texas and our district, but year over year our schools have experienced shrinking funding, worsening teacher shortages, and larger class sizes with no substantial improvement. I will focus on increasing the basic allotment, improving teacher pay and retention, and fully funding special education and support services. I oppose efforts to pull public school funding for private school vouchers, particularly without adequate enforcement of equal opportunity and accessibility for neurodivergent and disabled students.

My qualifications for this office are rooted in military service, executive leadership, and hands-on experience working with local governments.
I am a Naval Special Warfare veteran who served in Iraq, where I learned disciplined decision-making, accountability, and leadership under pressure, lessons that continue to guide my public service.
After the military, I built a career in public administration and infrastructure delivery. I served as City Manager of Mont Belvieu, one of the fastest-growing cities in the Houston region, working directly for a Mayor and City Council and managing daily operations. During my tenure, I helped lead more than $4 billion in economic development and over $200 million in capital improvements, including roads, water, drainage, and public safety facilities.
Fiscal responsibility was a priority. We strengthened long-term financial stability, expanded property tax exemptions for seniors and disabled residents, and avoided unnecessary tax increases while maintaining high service levels.
Today, I am a small-business owner and infrastructure consultant working with cities and counties across Texas. This gives me a practical understanding of how state policy affects local governments, taxpayers, and economic growth. I bring executive experience, a results-driven approach, and a clear understanding of how legislation impacts communities.
Property taxes and rising local costs continue to strain households, particularly seniors and working families. While the state does not set local tax rates, it can provide tools that help local governments lower the burden. I support expanding homestead exemptions, increasing flexibility for cities and counties to manage revenue fluctuations, and resisting one-size-fits-all mandates that drive costs upward. I will focus on policies that allow local officials to control spending, maintain essential services, and return growth to taxpayers rather than raising rates.
The second major challenge is infrastructure. Rapid growth is outpacing roads, drainage, water systems, and public safety facilities. Poorly planned or delayed infrastructure increases congestion, flooding risk, and long-term costs. My approach is to prioritize projects that directly support safety and economic productivity, improve coordination between state and local agencies, and encourage financing methods that spread costs over time rather than pushing sudden increases onto taxpayers.
Having worked directly in local government and infrastructure delivery, I understand how state decisions affect project timelines, budgets, and service levels. My focus will be on practical solutions that reduce costs, protect taxpayers, and ensure communities can grow responsibly without sacrificing quality of life.
