The Illinois House of Representatives is the lower house of the Illinois General Assembly. It is composed of 118 representatives elected from individual legislative districts for a two-year term, with no term limits. As of the 2020 Census, Illinois state representatives represented an average of 108,667residents.To be eligible to serve as a member of the General Assembly, a person must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years old, and for the two years preceding his election or appointment, a resident of the district which he is to represent.
