Elgin School District

School Boards set educational goals, establish policy, plan student services, establish budgets and long-range plans, create community relations programs and communicate with the public. They employ superintendents and treasurers to manage schools in accordance with school board policies. Decisions are made by the board as a whole at public meetings.

I want to be a strong advocate for our students both in the classroom and at home. As a mom of four children—an Elgin graduate, a current sophomore, a seventh grader, and a fifth grader—and as a farmer’s wife, I know the value of hard work, community, and raising kids with strong roots. Like other families, I want not only my own children but all children to feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

My top priorities are: 1. Protecting the health and safety of students. 2. Ensuring financial responsibility to taxpayers. 3. Expanding opportunities for every child, including access to free lunches.

Serving on the school board is a big responsibility, but worth it if my voice helps shape even one better decision for our kids. At the end of the day, my heart is to put children first—in their health, safety, and future.
