I’m running for City Council At-Large Position 4 to give Houston a strong, dedicated voice. Having lived and worked here my entire adult life—as a security guard, teacher, coach, police officer, and attorney—I’ve seen our residents’ challenges firsthand. My diverse experience equips me to tackle these issues effectively.
Public safety is a top priority. I’ll advocate for smarter technology, like expanded video surveillance, and stronger community partnerships so law enforcement can respond effectively while protecting vulnerable groups. At the same time, we must invest in infrastructure—repairing roads, improving drainage, and maintaining public facilities to keep Houston thriving.
In the next decade, Houston can become not only America’s premier city but a global premier city. Our parks, sports, concerts, jobs, and affordability will attract residents worldwide. By empowering local businesses, building a citizen-focused government, and ensuring efficient first responders, services, and community programs, we can make this vision a reality by building and working on the concerns of the people.
In this technology based environment I believe text alerts, radio stations and social media can assist with engaging residents in the city's decision-making process. I also believe in traditional methods as newspapers, newsletters, PIP meetings, town hall meetings and billboards to engage residents in the city's decision-making process.
I love Houston’s parks, event centers, sports arenas, diverse communities, and local restaurants—these are the qualities that truly set our city apart from others across America.

Public service has always been my primary source of motivation to run for public office. As a former City Council Member, I introduced initiatives and developed strategic partnerships that brought fresh food options to the Historic Third Ward Neighborhood and other areas of District D that included HEB and Pyburn’s Fresh Farm Foods stores. I also successfully secured long-needed improvements to streets, drainage, affordable housing provisions while in office.
-The budget deficit/needed improvements in quality of city services,
-Flooding event mitigation and resilience.
In order for the city to make progress toward long-term financial sustainability, it will need to explore adding additional revenue streams permitted under state law. Getting the City on a firm financial footing is the first step toward resolving the issues listed above. I believe if we work together for the good of the city, putting politics aside, we can achieve our goal.
My vision for Houston in 10 years is for the City to resolve its ongoing budget issues and realize additional revenue streams that can lead to improvements in city services and infrastructure. I will lean upon strategies that I used previously as a Houston Council Member and look to expand strategic partnerships with other governmental entities as well as the shakers and movers of the local private sector to support us in getting the City where it should be as a world destination.
I will remain engaged with the City's residents through maintaining an open-door office policy and establishing regular town hall meetings and listening sessions to ensure that I remain in tune with the problems facing the community and address them through action. My end goal is to continue to foster a relationship with our community that builds trust in local government, creates opportunities, and instills confidence that I will represent them to the best of my ability. Always.
A few of my favorite things about Houston are: 1) its uniqueness, 2) its diversity, 3) the opportunities it promises, 4) the wonderful weather, and 5) our Clutch City swag.

I'm running because the foundation of government is the people. and Houston deserves a City Hall where they are the focus. My background as a local government reporter, business advisor and public speaker has prepared me to simplify processes, amplify community voices, and create systems where our residents are the true decision-makers.
I'll modernize city processes, software, and training so residents can easily navigate government and influence decisions because people, not bureaucracy, should be the city's decision-makers. I'll also elevate microbusinesses as a workforce development strategy - bringing mobile advising into neighborhoods and offering programs for steady-income ventures, not just high-growth or B2G.
In 10 years, I see a modern, community-centered Houston where every resident has ownership in their city. That means affordable housing with dignity, microbusinesses driving the economy, and neighborhoods preserving their culture and roots. I'll create systems that keep residents engaged, develop city-backed tools for transparency, and ensure growth reflects Houston's people, not just major corporate development.
I'll bring City Hall to the people through pop-up City Hall days in neighborhoods, a platform that gives residents direct access and accountability, and plain-language guides that make participation easier. I'll prioritize civic education everywhere, so residents know how government works and how to use their voice. When the people are empowered, City Hall truly becomes theirs.
My favorite thing about Houston is its people and our communities. Our food, music, and cultural traditions are the threads that make this city unique. Each neighborhood tells its own story, built by generations, who created something worth preserving. Houston is unique and we need to honor those roots while making space for new voices to grow within our shared tapestry.

I have always been political but I was never very involved on the local level until Mayor Whitmire started ripping up my neighborhood to take out projects that made us safer. Since then I have been working to oust him via a recall election. What started as a fight for safe streets became a fight against authoritarianism in our city. My experience as a organizer has given me the skills to bring people together to fight back, public pressure is exactly what won us $50m for housing not pragmatism.
Bridging the gap in service cuts we are seeing at the federal level is very important to me as someone who relies on SSI and Medicaid. We have plenty of money for convention centers and cops but not things people need most, it's possible to reallocate some of that money. The City is wildly unprepared for disasters, we struggle to keep the lights on and our neighborhoods from flooding in your average thunderstorm as is. FEMA has not released an updated flood map in years, time to make our own.
We need to further invest in mass transit like other major cities and not ignore voters like METRO did with METRONext. We should be protecting our immigrant communities, that means ICE out of Houston forever not just until Trump is gone. Houston could do with much more green space we could be taking unused land for this purpose. I want to see polluters taxed and have that money go towards services and air quality monitoring/enforcement. The City/County should fund public health insurance.
People should have a say in every decision made within this city, Houston First, Public Works, etc. should have open and transparent meetings at times that accomodate working people. I would be more than happy to work with any department out there hosting town halls for the community to attend. I would like to create a set of standards for community input on new projects, a set number of meetings, option to give comment in person and online, and a clear but detailed outline of the plan.
Houston is a city with something for everyone, great food from different cultures across the globe, art from the greats to starving artists creating works in their garage, to all the people that come from all over to visit. I like to escape to Hermann park whenever I get the chance to, given it's not too hot. I recently moved close to the red line which has been a massive quality of life improvement for me given my chronic pain can make driving dangerous at times.

I’m running because I believe every Houstonian deserves a safe place to live, opportunities to thrive, and a voice that truly represents them. Every day, through my work with youth, families, and communities, I see the impact of broken systems and how innovation can change lives. I’ve built housing, created jobs, and launched programs that keep our streets safer. My hands-on experience and passion for serving people make me ready to deliver real solutions for Houston.
Two urgent issues are public safety and affordable housing. Too many families live one crisis away from losing stability, and our neighborhoods need better resources to stay safe. I’ll champion smarter investments in community-based policing, youth programs, and innovation hubs that reduce crime by creating opportunity. I’ll fight for housing policies that prioritize working families and ensure no child sleeps without a safe place to call home.
I envision a Houston where every resident no matter their zip code has access to safety, housing, and opportunity. In 10 years, I see thriving neighborhoods, smarter infrastructure, and strong partnerships that uplift our people. I’ll expand innovation centers, workforce pipelines, and affordable housing while strengthening small businesses and green solutions. Together, we can build a city where our youth feel supported, families feel secure, and every Houstonian has a chance to succeed.
I believe the best solutions come from listening to the people most impacted. I will host community roundtables, youth forums, and neighborhood listening sessions across all districts to ensure every voice is heard. Through my daily work creating housing, supporting families, and keeping our streets safe, I know change happens when we work together. I’ll make City Hall more accessible by bringing decisions to the people and ensuring transparency in every step.
What I love most about Houston is our strength, resilience, and heart. During Hurricane Harvey, I worked side by side with families through Houston Strong, helping rebuild lives and witnessing neighbors come together during one of our city’s most traumatic times. That spirit of unity inspires my vision for a Smarter, Stronger Houston a city where innovation, housing, and opportunity meet compassion. Houston’s diversity and determination are what make us unstoppable, and united.

I've spent decades doing the work without a title. I'm driven by an unrelenting commitment to serve my community. Together, we stood strong and successfully fought off efforts by the Texas Medical Center and The Harris County Psychiatric Health Center to use eminent domain to take our homes. I've partnered with the City of Houston on major infrastructure projects, flood control initiatives and more. What sets me apart is my proven track record of negotiating the best outcomes.
No Trash TAX: We need to protect the residents from unfair fees due to lack of oversight and accountability. Taxation with representation is not fair. To increase revenue, we need to enforce our illegal dumping ordinance and collect. Right now we don't enforce nor collect. I will also push for independent forensic audits of key city departments to review major contracts, budget allocations, and Capital improvement projects. We need full visibility into how our tax dollars are used.
My vision is simple but powerful: We need to start over and rebuild from the ground up. That starts with reconnecting government to the people it serves. We begin by taking City Hall to the Community. Instead of expecting residents to come to us, we will hold town hall-style meetings in the community. If it means chartering a bus and touring the streets to see what residents are living with every day, then that's exactly what we'll do. Because once we see it, it becomes real.
Civic engagement can be tricky especially when many residents have never been exposed to public speaking or don't fully understand the rules of engagement in public meetings. I've seen firsthand how some meetings can get out of hand, not because people don't care, but because they're frustrated, unheard, or unsure how to navigate the process. That's why I believe we must meet people where they are and a good starting point is closely working with super neighborhoods and Civic Clubs.
My favorite things are the people, culture, food, parks, Green spaces and businesses. I can always find what I need in Houston.

I’m running because Houston deserves leaders who can solve problems with both compassion and competence. As a lifelong Houstonian, I’ve seen the challenges our city faces — from infrastructure failures to budget mismanagement. The first is fiscal responsibility. Houston’s residents deserve a city that manages tax dollars wisely. My MBA and billion-dollar budget oversight experience have taught me how to cut waste, balance budgets, and deliver results without raising taxes.
The second is infrastructure. With a degree in construction management and experience leading a construction services company, I know how to prioritize and execute projects that actually fix our roads, improve drainage, and strengthen flood resilie
Ten years from now, I want Houston to be a city where families feel safe, businesses thrive, and our infrastructure keeps up with growth. Achieving this means three things: (1) sound fiscal management that keeps the city on stable footing, (2) long-term infrastructure investment with accountability at every step, and (3) public safety policies that back law enforcement while demanding transparency. My approach is to put Houston first in every decision, making sure today’s challenges don’t become
Houstonians deserve a seat at the table. I’ll host regular town halls across the city, regularly engage with constituents on social media platforms to keep them informed, and create open channels for feedback on key projects. I want people to see exactly how their tax dollars are being used and to know their voices matter before votes are cast.
Houston is a city of opportunity. I love its diversity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. Whether it’s our world-class food, strong business community, or neighborhoods that rally together in times of crisis, Houston is proof that when people from all walks of life come together, we can achieve great things. That’s why I’m so proud to call this city home and why I’m committed to serving it.

I came to Houston a decade ago and fell in love with the city. I've built a successful career here. I'm running to make sure every Houstonian has a fair shot. It's in my DNA. My great-grandfather came to this country with nothing, started out as a custodian, and went on to own the company. Together, we can build a Houston where everyone who works hard has that same opportunity to succeed. Like any big city, we have big challenges, but I have a proven record of taking on big fights – and winning.
We need a balanced approach to public safety that keeps violent criminals off the streets, prioritizes mental health treatment over incarceration, and reduces gun violence. We need to pick up the trash on time, fix water leaks and potholes promptly, and protect neighborhoods from illegal dumping, after-hours noise, and car break-ins. We need to deliver affordable and reliable city services and infrastructure that keeps traffic moving, protects pedestrians, and keeps floodwaters out of our homes.
I see a city where families can focus more on raising their kids and less on whether the next big storm will flood their homes; where our leaders are investing in our future instead of cutting vital services to fix a budget deficit; and where everyone has real opportunity, no matter who you are, what you look like, or what part of town you live in. I will work closely with the Mayor and City Controller to make sure city government is doing its job efficiently, fairly, and responsibly.
My goal is to make city government accessible, transparent, and trustworthy. I strongly support the new practice of holding public session in the evenings when people can participate without having to miss work or school. I've proposed public report-card style rankings of city services and departments. I pledge to govern with compassion, listen with respect, lead with transparency, prioritize public input, strive for equity, fight for equality, speak with honesty, and serve with integrity.
There is so much to love about Houston! Our people are friendly, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Watching Houstonians rally and support each other in times of need, like during Hurricane Harvey and the big freeze, inspires me and fills me with immense pride for our city. We are the most diverse major city in America, and somehow we manage to make that not only work, but thrive. It's why I am excited to raise my family here. And the food, art, and culture – all incredible!

I’m running for Houston City Council to deliver results, not rhetoric. I’ll focus on safer streets, stronger neighborhoods, and smarter use of taxpayer dollars. With over 30 years of experience in policy, advocacy, political, and community leadership, I will bring proven solutions that improve everyday life for Houstonians.
Houstonians face rampant criminal activity, a lack of affordable housing, and limited access to healthcare. I will support law enforcement, cut red tape to expand housing options, and promote community-based healthcare solutions that prioritize families. My focus is on safety, stability, and opportunity without higher taxes or bigger government.
In the next decade, I envision Houston as a city that upholds the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and efficiency through strong internal controls. Our residents will receive city services in a timely, effective, and responsive manner. I also see Houston embracing innovative technologies to enhance public safety, modernize infrastructure, and deliver services that meet the needs of an evolving and dynamic society.
I have spent my career working closely with communities to ensure they are informed about the issues that affect their daily lives. As an elected official, I will continue that commitment by engaging residents through regular town hall meetings, community forums, and direct outreach. I will also leverage available city resources and modern communication tools to maximize outreach efforts, making sure every voice has the opportunity to be heard and included in shaping Houston’s future.
My favorite thing about Houston is that it is truly a city of opportunity. I love its eclectic mix of cultures, food, music, and diverse interests that make our city vibrant and unique. To me, there is no better place to live.

I’m running for City Council to put people at the center of Houston’s infrastructure. I’m a project manager uniting the nation’s power grids and I served as Chief of Staff at City Hall to Amanda Edwards and Letitia Plummer, giving me both technical expertise and inside knowledge to get results. From union organizing to civic leadership, my career has been about fairness and accountability. I’ll ensure every city investment makes life safer, more affordable, and more sustainable for Houstonians.
I’ll tackle housing affordability and street safety. Houston needs its first Comprehensive Housing Plan to align all agencies and dollars toward permanently affordable homes with real oversight. I’ll also enforce Vision Zero by requiring NACTO-aligned street design, restoring High Injury Network updates, creating a crash review board, and publishing annual safety report cards to hold the City accountable.
In 10 years, I see a Houston where every resident has a safe, affordable home, where flooding and heat are managed with resilient infrastructure, and where no one dies on our streets. To get there, I’ll champion a Comprehensive Housing Plan, adopt a worst-first stormwater strategy, enforce Vision Zero with real accountability, and ensure every city dollar is spent transparently to improve daily life for Houstonians
I’ll restore trust by ensuring residents and experts—not backroom politics—guide Houston’s future. That means honoring voter-approved plans like METRONext, creating public dashboards for all projects, and embedding real community engagement into every ordinance and budget. Houstonians shouldn’t see years of work ignored; their voices must shape how we build housing, transit, and safe streets.
