The top three concerns I've heard from community members are: (1) a desire for more transparency from the district; (2) issues with the new building; and (3) the large number of administrative positions in the district. Solutions: (1) Create a community advisory panel to provide feedback on policies, budgeting, and programs. Publishing monthly, easy-to-read reports on district spending, student performance data, and key decisions. (2) Future building projects will need a real-time project tracker for progress reports and budget updates. We need to create classrooms for intervention. (3) Conduct a full staffing audit to evaluate the purpose and productivity of each admin role - find any redundancies or inefficiencies.
As a business owner, I bring experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and accountability. As a parent of two Titans, I understand the importance of strong schools and how district decisions impact families. Coaching and volunteering have taught me how to support and motivate students while fostering strong relationships with parents, staff, and the broader community. These roles have given me a well-rounded view of our district’s strengths and challenges. I’m ready to bring practical leadership, transparency, and a student-first mindset to the school board.
It's not really in my nature to sit back and not get involved when I see a need. I suppose I follow the adage, "Don't complain about anything unless you're prepared to do something about it." But it goes beyond that. I care deeply about this district and the families here. I'm a proud Triway graduate who has remained involved with the district beyond graduation, and I want to be a part of providing our kids a great education that prepares them not only for a future career but also prepares them to be outstanding members of our community.
Our new building is certainly a great attraction to families - and we should continue to promote the benefits it provides. Additionally, we need to continue striving for excellence in the classroom. Strong test scores are important, but what is often more attractive to parents is the learning environment. Will their children be given opportunities to learn and grow with staff who truly care about their development? When we tell families that Triway is for "Every Student. Every Classroom. Every Day." Do we back that up? If we do, that will be attractive to families.
