I am a proud product of Sycamore, and I am deeply passionate about supporting public schools. For over a decade, I’ve volunteered in Sycamore Schools, working side by side with administrators, teachers, staff, and students. I work diligently to make sure Sycamore is the very best it can be. I’ve managed a variety of budgets and bring a track record of being open-minded, hardworking, and strategic. I am a team player. I understand the real needs of both students and staff at Sycamore.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is essential in public schools. DEI creates supportive environments where every student feels included, valued, and able to reach their full potential. It prepares students for the diverse world they will live and work in. When students feel they belong, academic outcomes are stronger. Our curriculum must reflect diverse perspectives, staff should receive training on inclusive practices, and district policies should enforce zero tolerance for discrimination.
I would like to find better ways to reach all members of our community. Our district needs a messaging platform that connects everyone not just families with children currently in school. It is important that families feel comfortable communicating openly with district administration and Board of Education members.
