With the new Comprehensive Plan we have installed, we are doing what we can to control what our residents want in the township. The Comprehensive Plan took months of work, many community input sessions and hard work by a lot of volunteers. The residents told us they didn’t want water and sewer coming into township as that would be a precursor to companies trying to force their way in here. While we know that progress is inevitable, we have worked and continue to work hard on keeping our township as it is.
We want Liberty to keeps its charm. We were the first Township in Licking County to have the County Commissioners sign off on keeping those large solar fields out of our township, helping to keep our local charm.
My political experience was limited when I moved out to the Township. I wanted to be involved and informed on things in my new neighborhood. I attended meetings and got on the zoning appeals board before deciding to throw my hat in the ring.
We have created a website and Facebook page to keep our folks in the know. I also speak to folks in the community at community events or in passing informing them of any topics that might be of interest.
Luckily our township is full of Agricultural land and green spaces. Thats what makes this township so great.
We have just finished our new Township building, so that was a big one. We actually have indoor plumbing now! This term we will work on redoing our zoning to match up exactly with our Comprehensive Plan, continue to to monitor the township roadways and work with our neighboring townships to try and keep the wonderful area out here free of all the mess that is going on west of us.
