The main challenge will be working with two divided factions to create one solid village through a new charter, combined zoning and comprehensive plans, and new services while maintaining our rural character and things like the ability to farm and hunt.
As a wardrobe professional for 30 years I have worked with a diverse population of performers and backstage professionals, which has given me skills in negotiating and bringing people and ideas together.
Create a strong financial future and control growth to meet our needs.

I have held multiple roles at Denison University, primarily in student housing (residential life), and more recently in admission. I'm also involved in wellness coaching / wellness workshops outside my formal role.
If the merger passes, Alexandria’s main challenges will be growth, unity, and infrastructure.
Unity will be a priority, since we’ll be bringing together two governments and two groups of residents. Everyone should feel represented and fairly served.
Growth is coming, and we must guide it in a way that protects farmland, open space, and our small-town character while allowing for needed homes and businesses.
Infrastructure is another key issue: roads, water, sewer, and public services must keep up with growth without overburdening taxpayers. At the same time, we must keep local services like fire and police strong and reliable.
Above all, transparency and trust are essential. People need to know decisions are made openly, with their voices included. If we focus on protecting character, planning wisely, and being honest with residents, we can build a stronger, more unified community.
My strengths are listening, bringing people together, and solving problems with both practicality and compassion. I have experience working with residents, businesses, and local leaders, which has taught me how to balance different points of view and find common ground. I believe in asking hard questions, being open with information, and making sure people feel included in decisions.
My professional background in coaching and community work has prepared me to focus on long-term goals while still paying attention to day-to-day needs. These skills will help me guide growth responsibly, strengthen unity after the merger, and make sure our infrastructure and services meet the needs of all residents without losing the character of our community.
The main thing Alexandria will need to manage in the early days of a merged and united municipality will be planning for growth in a way that reflects our values. Development pressure is here, and if we don’t set the rules and expectations early, others will decide for us. By updating zoning, strengthening infrastructure plans, and making sure residents have a strong voice in decisions, we can protect farmland and open space, keep our small-town character, and still welcome the right kind of growth. Setting that foundation in the first four years will shape the next forty.
