1. The safety of our citizens has been our number one priority no matter where you live or work in the City of Youngstown. Over the last four years, the homicide rate has been reduced by 56% as a result of proactive policing and greater community partnerships. Our goal is to ensure that city residents are safe and free from all crimes; homicide, robbery, assault, theft, burglary, domestic violence and verbal disputes.

2. A healthier community through business growth and access to Quality Affordable Housing is a priority a goal of my administration. We want to play a key role in addressing the housing shortage crisis. For those who choose to rent or lease, we are providing landlord assistance to provide quality housing options.

Our Community Impact & Safety Plan focuses on reducing crime through prevention, intervention and community partnerships that provide resources (IE; employment, expungements and driver’s licenses). We are investing in technology such as security cameras & license plate readers throughout the community that provides real time data to assist in tracking and locating those involved in criminal activity. Project Impact Initiative, a partnership with Youngstown Police, Ohio Highway State Patrol, Mahoning County Sheriff, the FBI, and other supporting agencies ensures thorough and impactful law enforcement efforts that directly contribute to to the health and safety of our neighborhoods.

We are intentional in playing a key role in addressing the housing crisis in our city. We have strategically introduced incentives for current and future homeowners. For residents who choose to rent or lease, we are providing landlords with assistance to provide quality housing.

We will invest over $25 Million over the next two years into housing programs and have generated over $30 Million in economic development. The focus is to retain current businesses and residents and attract new homeowners and businesses to the community. We offer tax abatements, façade improvement programs, and other ways for home buyers and businesses to thrive. We have removed and demolished over 3,400 vacant dilapidated residential and commercial properties to create opportunity for future development and growth.

1. Reclaiming Our Identity: Youngstown, now 47 years later since the announced closure of the Steel Mills, is no longer the "Steeltown USA" as we knew it. The days of old, where blatant "Mob-town" rule and racketeering are largely in our rearview, and the devastating effects of "Murder-town" cannot continue to be all that define us.

2. Repairing Trust in City Hall: We demand a responsive administration where clear & direct communication, full transparency and accountability is the standard. We expected elected officials to be servant-leaders, earnestly working on behalf of all who appointed them.
1. The strategic work around "Reclaiming Our Identity" will help properly position us to (re)create industry. When we truly know who we are as a city, our assets, our value and our worth is to the world, to the Valley, the State & the Region, we can then leverage it into building up economy and driving investment here. Our very own McKelvey Lake, for example, is still believed to have dead bodies, guns, mob safe's, and more. Our Mahoning River is still seen as toxic. The abundance of land, rail lines, geographical positioning is still under-leveraged. Youngstown has much to SHOUT about yet we don't.

-Advertising / Marketing and storytelling of what makes us amazing. We've got to sing our own praises from the rooftop using modern photo, video, audio/podcast, tv, radio, print etc. -Proper investment in all 31 identified neighborhoods across the City. Enrolling small businesses, non-profits, churches, block watch groups and residents alike - we'll take back and tell our own story.

2. Repairing City Hall begins with a proper top-to-bottom assessment/evaluation of all appointed positions, followed by a clear focus on retaining all who are performing and thereafter seeking to attract and hire additional top talented people who together. will continue to take care of our people. Proper staffing levels along with a clear high standard for business operations is a must. Streamlined processes, modern tech to aide our communication, permitting, public request efforts is essential.
