To describe the top two priorities is a challenging question. Ensuring that the students of Austintown have the best possible education means that there are a multitude of priorities that must remain on top. A quality education is not just a report card, it's a safe and secure campus, its quality staff from the top down, state of the art facilities, top skilled trade labs, athletics, and its fiscal accountability to the stakeholders. The list can go on and on. Should I be forced to choose two, I would have to start with safety and security for our campus, followed by the fiscal responsibility to our residents. I too am a tax payer that has brought three children through the Austintown Local School District.
Addressing these priorities will be as simple as a continuation of what has been started over the past four to five years. When it comes to the safety of our students, we ensure that there are several School Resource officers on campus, the security during extra curricular activities has increased, and building security has been addressed.
The staff in Austintown is second to none. Our Superintendent and Treasurer, our central office, and our teaching and support staff have made tremendous strides in recent years. We strive to make sure every student has every opportunity available to them, from academics to over 50 clubs, to athletics and fine arts. Austintown Local Schools offer 29 College Credit plus classes and 21 advanced placement course offerings.
This Board has invested approximately 14 million dollars over the past few years to upgrade and maintain our facilities. The transportation department has also seen a significant investment into new buses. This Board has identified a need to introduce our students back to the opportunity for skilled trades and it’s now happening. All of these fantastic improvements have happened all while maintaining fiscal responsibility to our residents.
A strong school system helps build a strong community, and that's exactly the direction this School District is heading. We will continue to keep our Schools on the forefront of education for my continuance in office.

My top priorities are entirely centered on supporting the students of Austintown Local Schools. One of the most important focus areas for both myself and the district is student attendance, which has shown consistent improvement. When students and families feel confident in the safety and quality of our learning environment, regular attendance becomes the norm. As the saying goes, "Showing up is half the battle."
Another priority is continuing our broad approach to education. Austintown offers an unmatched variety of pathways and programs that cater to student interests and goals. From extracurricular activities and advanced technology offerings to our skilled trades programs and numerous CCP/AP courses. Every student has an opportunity.
Leadership. Over the past eight years, our district has experienced a tremendous amount of change, particularly in positions of leadership. From our district-level administrators to the teachers leading in the classroom, I strongly believe in empowering our leaders to lead. Giving our leaders the trust and autonomy to make decisions allows us to continue building on our successes and ensures that our district continues on a strong and positive path forward.
