Privacy & Space-
I recognize resident's concerns over being able to enjoy more privacy and freedom in personal lifestyle choices. We live or moved to Green Township to enjoy more space and distance from our neighbors, to avoid scrutiny from neighbors and to be able to plant a garden, ride a dirt bike, enjoy a more natural environment, or discharge a firearm among other things. We moved here to be able to use the land as we wished, and to avoid restrictive urban bylaws, ordinances, and zoning.
Citizen Action-
I believe it is important to encourage citizen involvement in the process of government. Many of our residents feel overlooked and left behind by policy makers and that our way of life is threatened.
For Privacy & Space, I will conduct a comprehensive review of our zoning laws. The current township philosophy is that zoning protects you. This is often a balance between infringing upon a property owner's freedom to use their property versus protecting against true harm to the community such as taxic waste dumping or unsafe target shooting. I will restore "Common Sense" to the zoning process to promote a more peaceful, welcoming environment.
For Citizen Action, I want to welcome residents to get involved in their local government and community. Most recently in the last presidential election only about 50.1 of the residents in Mahoning County voted, and only about ten percent turnout for the primary elections. The importance of participation cannot be overstated. I will recruit, retain, and reactivate voters in our community even if they don't support my position. We are better together. If elected, I will post the minutes and any information related to the township on the website. Only recently the township has begun updating the website. We can do better about welcoming residents to attend. More importantly community input can be captured by simple surveys so that the township money is being spent supporting the interests and needs of the community. My goal upon election is to organize and mobilize community action days where citizens can come together using their many talents and resources to aid the community with projects, clean-ups, and other community involvement.

1) Expanding the use of Coy Park
2) Cemetery Improvements
1) I have worked with the South Range Baseball Association to determine there is a need for an additional Little League sized baseball field that would service the most children in our township. I have applied for multiple funding grants to help pay for the field. I have worked with a local Civil Engineer to design a field and laid out a project plan with the associated costs with the goal of having a playable field for the children in the Spring of 2026
2) I have been working to apply for funding grants to remove trees and fix retaining walls. I am collaborating with South Range Schools to determine if we can digitize the cemetery information and try to get some of the information onto our township website so that our residents can more easily access it.

My first priority as Trustee is to focus on continuing improvements to our township roads, cemeteries, and Coy Park. These key pieces of infrastructure are essential to the quality of life for township residents and must be maintained to a high standard.
My second priority is to continue supporting strong safety services for the residents of Green Township. This includes the Fire, EMS, Police and Road Departments. I will ensure that these departments remain highly trained and well equipped in order to provide first rate services to our residents.
As a current Trustee, I strongly supported the creation of a comprehensive 10 year Road Rating/Maintenance Plan. I will continue to support the paving of township roads using the .25% county sales tax and cooperation from the County Engineer. We have some of the best roads in the area and within the past 3 years, nearly 1/3 of the township's 21 miles of roads have been paved. We will be applying for an additional State Cemetery Grant early next year to assist with maintenance costs. We have also applied for a Nature Works Grant to add 1 or 2 baseball fields at Coy Park and will continue to look for other grant funding for park modernization.
We support Fire, EMS, and Police with current levies and have no plans for additional taxes. I will work with the Trustees and Fiscal Officer to bring additional State and Federal grants into the township departments. I was integral in establishing an equipment modernization plan in 2022 using ARPA and Covid funds to purchase a new ambulance for EMS, and a mini excavator, trailer and Dump Truck for the Road Department. We also received the ODOT Sign Grant last year that will improve traffic safety by replacing road signs accross the Township. A grant of over $13,000 was also awarded by NOPEC for efficiency upgrades.
As a lifelong resident, farmer, and US Army Veteran, I am proud of Green Township and my 16 years serving as a Trustee. I look forward to continue serving the residents and preserving the Rural Character of Green Township.
