I'm a substitute teacher, engineer, graduate student, planning commissioner, and advocate who cares deeply about learning and growing with our community. I’m running to make certain that St. Louis Park continues to be a leader in implementing progressive policies including, but not limited to, zoning, parking, and transportation reforms, and tenant, worker, and environmental protections. I am the best candidate because I’m actively working to make our city and region a better place to live for present and future generations. I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent ward 4 as your City Council Member because I love St. Louis Park and want to give back to the community that has given me so much.
As a council member, affordability, shared mobility, and community connection will be my top three priorities. We all need stable, affordable homes, safe transportation options, and meaningful opportunities to connect with our neighbors to thrive together. I’m committed to elevating the voices of current and future residents from historically underserved communities so that we can collectively pursue environmental, racial, and social justice.
I work hard to be present, listen, and meet people where they’re at with every interaction I have. Every member of our community has a unique perspective to bring to the table, and I’m committed to ensuring that everyone’s voices are considered in every decision made at city hall. My perspective is that of a renter, worker, cyclist, pedestrian, and transit user. While much of my work is informed by these identities, I come equipped with patience, an open mind, and a desire for consensus.
I will emulate the city’s great work to include all of our voices in important decisions by actively engaging with city staff, my fellow elected officials, and constituents. I will provide timely responses to all contacts and hold city staff accountable for effectively sharing information and acting upon feedback. I will also seek out, and create new opportunities to interact, both virtually and in person, to strengthen our shared relationships.
