Lino Lakes City Council Member {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

As local legislators who sometimes have executive power, council members can propose ordinances, set administrative policy, and authorize the budget proposed by the mayor. They oversee all city activities, including city services, programs, licensing, and public safety. Mayoral appointments to city government typically require council approval.Learn more here: https://www.lwv.org/blog/voting-local-matters-why-vote-city-council Watch the candidate forum from September 17, 2025.If your candidate didn’t fill in the guide below, visit the Secretary of State’s Candidate Filing site to find contact info. I am one of the best candidates for city council because I bring a fresh take on Lino Lakes. Our city has become accustomed to rapid expansion without consideration for established neighborhoods, mature trees, and wildlife. These are what make our gem of a city a desirable place in which to live. Building density and its accompanying traffic bring noise and pollution to once quiet neighborhoods. The felling of large trees destroys habitat, and we soon lose the wildlife that makes Lino so special. We can do better. We can slow down our development so that we can make more thoughtful plans for those of us who already live here. We can plan for "fingers" of open space across our whole city so that wildlife can thrive and we as well.
My top 3 priorities will be public safety/emergency response, neighborhood/wildlife preservation, and building a more walkable, bikeable city. Public safety and emergency response funding will always be my top priority. If we do not have a well-supported police and fire department, then we will not be safe, and no other goal will matter. We all do best when we are surrounded by the peace of nature and green spaces. It is critical to preserve our land. Last, we need safe biking and walking paths.
The city council works for the citizens of Lino Lakes and not for outside influences. Our priorities have to be what our citizens want so it is crucial to be responsive when people take the time to let their concerns and desires be known to city council. It is not enough for the council to listen politely and then proceed to do exactly what they had planned all along. I will be a responsive and inclusive city council member. I will solicit your ideas and desires and actually implement them.
As I mentioned above, the city council works for the citizens of Lino Lakes. I think that our city staff does an excellent job of communicating city programs and plans, but I would like to see city council become more responsive. As a city council member, I would be careful to respond to any questions a resident has and, if I don't know the answer, I will find out. It is my experience that we all do much better with complete information so that will always be my goal.

I am open minded – I do believe diversity is the spice of life. I am patient and persistent. I have been involved in the community in many ways since late 1990’s. Former member of Lino Lakes Environmental Board Volunteer with Friends of the Mississippi work on Stream Health Evaluation Program Member of the Rice Creek Watership citizens Advisory committee Lake Monitor of one lake part of Community – Assisted Monitoring program Election Judge I have the time and energy to be on the council. I want to leave Lino Lakes to the next generation as a desirable place to live.
Our lakes and darky skies draw people to our area. Keeping water on the land where it falls and letting it disperse slowly benefits our lakes. Dark skies have been something people want when looking for homes, numerous reasons. Slower roads is something people on county roads, collector and dead-end streets mentioned when I canvased.
Citizens of Lino Lakes are voting in hopes they elect people who are looking out for all of Lino Lakes. LL residents are counting on staff, elected officials and board members to let them know about anything that pertains to their neighborhood. I have discovered nextdoor.com email is the most effective way for me to connect with people I do not know.

Speaking up during the city council meeting if I question something. The Quad does a good job of recapping our City council meetings. I would put the recap the Quad article on netdoor.com

I am the best candidate because I bring real-world experience, integrity, and a proven commitment to standing up for residents. As a licensed plumber and owner of Rehbein’s Arena, I value hard work, problem-solving, and straight answers—qualities missing in city leadership. When the city came after my farm in a dishonest way, I fought back and saw firsthand how government can work against its own people. Since then, I’ve been a consistent presence at Council meetings, holding leaders accountable. I understand the costs of rushed, high-density growth and the strain it places on taxpayers, schools, and public safety. My priorities are transparency, fiscal responsibility, and balanced growth that protects our rural character. I don’t represent
My top three priorities are transparency, fiscal responsibility, and balanced growth. Residents deserve full, honest information before major decisions—no more half-truths or hidden costs. Fiscal responsibility means math must be clear and taxpayers shouldn’t subsidize developers. Balanced growth ensures Lino Lakes preserves its rural character, natural spaces, and affordability while preventing high-density sprawl that strains schools, roads, and public safety.
I will engage residents by ensuring clear, accessible communication and full transparency on every major decision. I’ll listen to all perspectives—whether from long-time residents, new families, or business owners—and make sure their input is respected. Meetings, online updates, and plain-language explanations will give everyone a chance to be heard. My goal is to represent all residents fairly, not special interests, and keep decisions rooted in the best interests of the whole community.
I will push for plain-language communication so residents know the full truth about costs, impacts, and obligations before votes are taken. All project details should be accessible online, not buried in fine print. I will insist that public input be treated with respect and reflected in decisions. If numbers don’t add up, I’ll vote no. Transparency and accountability mean straight answers, open debate, and acknowledging mistakes instead of covering them up.
