There are three candidates running for one open seat.Educational Service Center Responsibilities: County and regional school boards of various sizes established to provide member school districts with professional development, technology, support, planning and administrative services that help improve student learning, enhance the quality of instruction, expand equitable access to resources and maximize operating and fiscal efficiencies.

Education and Experience
Former 40 year Board member Alexander Local Schools. Former OSBA Southeast Regional Board. Various OSBA leadership seminars. Former EMA Director for Athens County.
Advocate for more funding for Southeastern Ohio to recognize the high rate of poverty. To continue providing services on a cost shared basis to insure all students and staff have an an equal opportunity for resources and training among all member schools.
I have 40 years as a board member at the local and regional level. I have the experience as a parent, grandparent. I am the father of a teacher/varsity coach. I served as Athens County Emergency Management Director including disaster planning, preparedness, response, and recovery operations in all three counties. This also included grant procurement and administration.
Supporting your superintendents to meet the needs of their students, staff, and communities. Sharing ideas, resources, and advocating for public education. Make an effort to know your leaders in each district.
Being new to looking into running For the ESC, I will have a learning curve to being involved in the board. I will come into the elected seat with an open mind willing to learn. I will have to see what issues that are the most pressing once elected.
. I have been a elected council member in my home town of Racine for 2 terms running again for 3rd term. I know how government works and also grants, I know what it means to stay within a budget and how important taking an active role in what needs to be accomplished. I look forward to serving on the board and doing my best to improve education where it is needed. Always putting children's needs ahead for the future.
Being the at large board member, I will hope to meet educators in all districts and see where help is needed. Once any problems or issues are identified, working to clear those up will be a priority.
