Retired science teacher
Student performance and responsible, responsive fiscal management are the top two challenges to our district. Improving these can only be accomplished if we understand that deliberate planning, defined goals and timelines are a must. I have a deep understanding of the issues at hand and wish to join my colleagues on my ticket in January to make significant progress in reducing the financial footprint and improve student outcomes in the following years.
As a seasoned board member I have experience and institutional knowledge of the district. I am also a certified science teacher with an understanding of the classroom, curriculum and instruction. I have lived in Asbury Park for 40 years and deeply involved in community service, worked in the city as a police dispatcher 17 1/2 years, served as a union president, and have management experience in quality control.
I have always been a proponent of up to date and timely curriculum. My voting record and outspokenness speaks for itself. Any concerns a parent has is my concern.

Asbury Park faces challenges with declining enrollment, high costs, and community trust. If elected, I will prioritize keeping programs strong so families want to stay, advocate for fair state aid, and ensure transparency in how funds are used. My commitment is to put children first while supporting our staff and listening to our community.
I grew up in Asbury Park, attended our schools from pre-K to graduation, and now my daughter is beginning her own journey here. As a mom of a child with an IEP, I understand the challenges families face in getting the right support and services, and I want to make sure every student has what they need to succeed. My lived experience as a student, parent, and lifelong resident gives me the perspective and commitment to serve our community with truth, transparency, and love.
If elected, I will always listen to parents concerns with an open mind and heart, because families deserve to feel heard in the decisions that affect their children. I believe in clear communication, transparency, and making sure parents understand how and why curriculum choices are made. At the same time, I will work to ensure that our students have access to the best, most inclusive education possible, so every child is prepared to succeed.
