The Ohio Revised Code grants authority to township trustees but allows much discression in how a trustee carries out their responsibilities. My vision is to create a plan for Newbury that will benefit the whole community while protecting the residents and the unique nature of our Township. By definition, a township trustee is responsible for the assets, finances and services in the Township, but the job shouldn't end there. We know that Newbury will ultimately grow. How we handle that growth is the key to maintaining Newbury as a vibrant and beautiful community. Smart growth starts with a plan. A land use plan that I will help create with other leaders in the community.
Our Township budget has recently been harshly scrutinized by our County leaders. I will work within our means to create an acceptable budget which will benefit our Township while advancing the existing positive attributes currently provided.
Since the closing and transfer of our school district we have lost much of our collective unity. I hope to encourage our citizens to become more involved in township activities. We've had the Vetrans Memorial Day Parade, trash day, and most recently added a car show. All great by design but independent in specific genre, not a Township specific social gathering. We have many reasons to know our neighbors, we need to have a sense of community to promote a sense of unity.
As a lifelong resident of Newbury, I know the community and have been involved here for many years. I am currently chairman of the zoning commission, so I know strong community involvement develops through motivation. Residents will come forward with their ideas and observations creating enthusiasm. However, we all live busy and complicated lives so I recognize that not everyone can, or wants, to be involved at any one particular time or on any particular issue. Those residents can rest assured that I respect them, and will represent them well.

Experience Currently I manage a budget plan of over $100M for Arconic Corporation headquartered out of Pittsburgh, PA. I have over 15 years of corporate strategy, business development, and negotiation experience with Automotive OEMs such as Ford, GM, Honda, Tesla, among others.
Volunteer/Community Service I currently serve on the Lindsey Elementary PTO as the Chairperson for Laps for Lindsey, Head Coach for 3/4th Volleyball, I was also President of Canton Kiwanis in Michigan.
The role of Township Trustee is a coordinated effort of planning, zoning, budgeting, economic development, providing assistance to residents and overseeing community services. It's time to bring fresh perspectives and new energy to Newbury! I believe in accountability, transparency, and community collaboration. In my experience, I have not only led, planned, budgeted, negotiated, and developed several million dollar Automotive and Industrial project development initiatives, but I have provided transparency and communication throughout, and most importantly, executed timely. My tenacity and professional experience position me to deliver thoughtful, effective progress for the benefit of Newbury, and I urge residents to vote for a change.

The biggest fiscal challenge facing the township would be property tax reform. I don't see the state abolishing property tax completely, but we need to explore freeze or rollback options for seniors, long-term owners, or tax stabilization initiatives. We continue to see rising costs on both a federal and state level, and it's imperative to explore options to reduce the tax burden everyone faces. The homestead exemption is a great option, but many residents are not familiar with it, nor know how to file for it. I think that helping educate residents on available programs is essential to strengthening the trust in local government. Additionally, grant funding is underutilized, and I will find new opportunities to limit residents' tax burden.
Top challenges I plan to address are to recover the transferred school property back for the Newbury Community, residents want the ability to plan and vote on what will go there. Improve responsiveness for all resident concerns from both trustees and zoning and ensure that public services and future planning thoughtfully reflect Newbury resident's priorities. Regarding zoning, I'd like to emphasize community input before any zoning amendments. However, Newbury needs a revamped zoning strategy while respecting the township’s conservative and preservation-minded culture. If I'm elected, I have experienced Newbury residents ready to help me elevate Newbury and bring it into 2026 and beyond.
I'd like to design and implement a township wide feasibility survey/study to gain the residents' perspectives on what they like about Newbury, what improvements should be made, and what they would like to see changed, so we can determine what the future looks like. Online township meetings, which will create a better forum of discussion, while providing transparency. A more robust website with the ability to view zoning requests in real time. I would like to offer residents more and better services, which are limited today. Additionally, with diminishing volunteerism, it’s essential to foster an open and welcoming environment that encourages newcomers to get involved. We need trustees more readily available to listen and address concerns.

Volunteer/Community Service Served 15 years as a Newbury Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT
I have by far the most experience, 24 years, than any other the other candidates. My experience and knowledge gives me a distinct advantage. In addition, I have been able to change to the constantly changing atmosphere of township government.
With increasing costs across the board, it is difficult to choose a singular challenge. In the past few years due the trustees being fiscally responsible the township has been able to remain in pretty decent shape. Roads, cemeterys and our safety forces are in great shape.
With the ever-changing policies in Columbus and the unknowns with the real estate taxes will be challenging. When and if that occurs, we will work it out.
The township meetings held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month and the meeting minutes are posted on the newburyohio.com website within a day or 2 of our meetings. The trustees also allow a portion of our meetings for public comment. I am available for by phone and e-mail as well.
Experience Township Trustee for 8 years.
The role of a township trustee is to oversee various daily functions such as managing township finances, maintaining township roads, overseeing employees, safety and protection of the community, and establishing and enforcing zoning resolutions. I have a proven record over the last eight years of working to ensure that the township remains fiscally sound, and provides the necessary services for the community.
The rising cost of providing township services is the biggest fiscal challenge. As a trustee, this challenge must be calculated into all future plans for the township to remain fiscally sound.
Maintaining a viable work force into the future is a challenge that the township will be facing. Although we are currently fully staffed with capable, hard-working employees retaining personnel and replacing those individuals as they leave the work force and competing with larger municipalities will take some creative thinking by the township trustees
Information of current issues is readily available on the township website along with the community calendar. Residents are also encouraged to attend the regularly scheduled township trustees meetings and other township board meetings. All meeting dates and times are posted on the website at newburyohio.com.
