The major issue (first of many) is the 10.2% tax increase this year passed by the two incumbents up for re-election (Leonora Caminiti and Joseph Fitzgerald) and supported by two others running against my slate. This burden on Middletown families did not make our district stronger by hiring any new teachers, improving any facilities, or investing in our future. Rather the tax increase was a temporary stop gap destined to raise taxes just as much next year while still facing the reality of closing schools. After this tax increase it actually now costs more to educate a student in K-12 per year in Middletown than it does for in-state college tuition at Rutgers, the State University of NJ. Enough is enough!

We need to work tirelessly to find ways to get all of our schools back on track. The focus should be on increasing test scores and bettering the classroom and student experience via more teachers and improved facilities for everyone in our town. We must balance the needs of our students, parents and taxpayers to get our district back on track!
First and foremost, I am the mother of a student just getting started in this district. I care deeply for children and believe the school experience should help to better their mental and physical well being. As an involved parent, I believe strongly in parental rights and have always advocated for them.

Professionally, I have managed and been a successful contributor to many teams and companies through my 20+ year career. Locally, I volunteer at my son's school, am a member of multiple committees including the Shared Services Committee (liaisons between the township and BOE) and am also active as the fundraising lead for the RPL Chargers and Entertainment and Marketing Committees at the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club.

In short, I know how to work with others to get things done quickly and efficiently.
Elected officials are representatives for those that voted for them. I will keep an open communication policy so I can hear and help with the thoughts and needs of all parents, not just those that may be the loudest.
