Education
I am a graduate of Dublin City Schools, The Ohio State University (B.A. with Majors: History and Anthropology), and Capital University Law School (concentration in dispute resolution).
Qualifications for Office
I am a life-long Dublin resident. As a current council member, I chair the Public Services Committee, sit on the Administrative Committee, and serve as liaison to the city’s Architectural Review Board and to Washington Township. Prior to council, I served 2 years on the Architectural Review Board and 7 years on the Planning & Zoning Commission. I also lead the East Dublin Civic Association.
One challenge is avoiding and mitigating adverse effects originated within or perpetuated by adjacent jurisdictions. Dublin can regulate development, maintain and grow infrastructure, and control crime within its boundaries; however, crime and traffic are not contained within jurisdictional boundaries. This is why the planning area for current traffic, housing, and infrastructure studies look beyond Dublin’s borders. This is also why our police department partners with adjacent law enforcement agencies. As Dublin plans for its future, I will continue to ensure Dublin studies and prepares for change outside its boundaries to ensure all residents, workers, and visitors enjoy the high-quality environment we all expect in Dublin.
I advocate for the continued extension of city water and sewer services to presently unserved residents. Likewise, I advocate for the city’s annual waterway maintenance program. As private wells and septic systems age, utility extension projects are important to the health and safety of our residents and our watershed. As water runoff increases with continued development, functioning waterways are critical for flood control. In addition, I advocate for the maintenance of existing infrastructure and resources. The city must maintain its existing assets before adding new assets. These projects are all funded through the city’s annual Capital Improvements Program (CIP). Taxes are the main CIP funding source (57% income tax & 6% property tax).
Dublin continually studies and plans for the future. In all its planning studies, Dublin reviews and considers projected growth outside Dublin that will ultimately use Dublin’s infrastructure and resources. Consequently, as much as possible, Dublin preempts problems by improving and adding infrastructure in advance of demand. The goal is to properly time improvements and new construction so that infrastructure is available when needed, yet it is not underused or unused for too long such that it degrades or becomes a waste of tax payer dollars to maintain. Dublin balances the timing by having studies complete and engineering design ready for implementation when development and growth is imminent.
Dublin uses a multi-prong approach to engaging residents and stakeholders. The city uses social media, websites, email, direct mail, sign boards, and more to alert residents about upcoming public meetings, surveys, and events. In addition to the city’s efforts, I engage Ward 1 residents residing on the east side of the Scioto River via an organization I run called the East Dublin Civic Association. I provide regular email updates and occasional in-person meetings to relate details regarding relevant city initiatives, development, traffic, and crime. I also attend and speak at Home Owner Association (HOA) meetings. I commit to being available and responsive, and assisting all Ward 1 residents with their questions, concerns, and problems.
Knowledge is power. Conveying facts clearly and succinctly is key. Knowing that people learn in different ways is also important. Thus, I advocate for distributing information in a variety of ways to reach all parties. Armed with data, people make informed decisions. It is a delicate balance determining how long to inform and how long to deliberate; ultimately, decisions need made and not everyone will agree with all decisions. The goal is to move ahead with the best decision from the available options when considering all of the facts. Upon making a decision, it is important to reflect on the process and outcome to learn from the experience and adapt as needed in the future.

Let’s Build Dublin for All
While Dublin has achieved notable progress in several areas, pressing concerns necessitate immediate attention, including overdevelopment, the housing crisis, mental health, preservation of green spaces, and the loss of aging demographics due to unaffordable housing and rising taxes. These pressing issues necessitate a thorough reexamination of our decision-making processes and a return to the drawing board with a community-first mindset and convictions. Addressing these challenges will require honest, transparent community engagement and consensus-building w/ Council leadership to explore possibilities for repurposing economic resources. If left unaddressed, these concerns will demand highcost solutions in future
Where there’s will there’s a way — let’s put our Community First always! I am passionate about creating affordable housing solutions to preserve our aging population, addressing the mental health crisis, diversifying development plans, and streamlining infrastructure costs. These everyday challenges require financial prudence and compassionate leadership. As these issues intensify nationwide, I am committed to driving innovative solutions in Dublin. By collaborating with Council members, the city manager, local resources, we can repurpose existing resources, leverage partnerships, develop data-driven action plans. To foster sustainable growth, we need transparent and cost-effective development strategies that engage businesses & residents.
As Central Ohio flourishes, Dublin is uniquely positioned to reach new heights, propelled by its exceptional school district. By harnessing the power of citywide geographic corridors, we can unlock innovative housing solutions that balance growth with community needs. To bring this vision to life, we must unite residents, school administrators, city planners, and zoning experts in a collaborative effort that prioritizes sustainable development and community well-being. Through transparent, accountable, and visionary leadership, we can forge a brighter future that empowers all stakeholders and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come. By working together as one team, we can achieve greatness – Together Everyone Achieves More!
As a process engineer, I believe that the more feedback loops we engage, the more robust $ resilient our processes become. Community feedback, engagement, and consensus are the very heartbeat of continuous improvement. My leadership style is centered around fostering a culture of transparency, where the community is always informed and engaged, & where milestones and achievements are shared with all. Community service is built on the pillars of trust, two-way communication, and a deep commitment to serving others. Over the past 27 years, I have been humbled to serve Central Ohio's vibrant community, building bridges & fostering connections. As the Dublin City Council member for Ward 1, I pledge to continue embodying the same spirits daily!
Inspiring dialogue & consistent communication are pivotal in forging trust, building relationships, & fostering a sense of community. Proactive engagement, rather than reactive responses, is essential in nurturing these connections. For past three decades, I have had the privilege of serving as a bridge between diverse cultural, faith & political communities, both locally & nationally. By embracing diligence, care & compassion, we can achieve miraculous breakthroughs in even the most challenging discourse and conflict resolution situations. In today's rapidly evolving world, it is more crucial than ever to focus on our shared values & synergies, rather than allowing our differences to divide us. I believe- United we stand, divided we fall!
