My extensive public service experience and unwavering commitment to the success of Ward 2 make me the ideal candidate. I was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina, where I developed strong family values and a deep appreciation for the needs of my community. Throughout my professional career, I have held leadership roles with Head Start Family Services, served as a school nurse in Craven County, and been active within the AME Zion Church. Additionally, I have held community leadership positions, including Chair and Vice Chair of the Fort Totten Precinct, and I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
My top three priorities for Ward 2 and the city of New Bern are as follows: 1) Ensuring that Ward 2 receives a fair and equitable distribution of public funds. 2) Improving the aging infrastructure of Ward 2 and New Bern, which includes enhancing stormwater management, streets, and sidewalks. 3) Promoting safe neighborhoods by collaborating with community leaders, religious organizations, and city law enforcement.
I plan to achieve my community goals by actively engaging with residents through regular public forums (town hall meetings) to gather community input and promote inclusivity. I will use social media and newsletters to keep my constituents informed and encourage their feedback, ensuring that our initiatives reflect the community’s needs. By building partnerships with local organizations and businesses, we can enhance our efforts. I am committed to transparency and will measure our progress through surveys and community feedback, adjusting our strategies as needed to ensure we remain aligned with our objectives for improving Ward 2.
TOGETHER WE WIN!
