Virginians are struggling to make ends meet. We need policy that addresses affordability issues, from capping prescription drug costs, meeting the growing demand for affordable housing, and lowering energy bills. Due to federal funding cuts to Medicaid, we also have to protect Virginians’ access to health insurance and the rural hospitals in our state that are projected to close because of the cuts. As a mom and public school employee, I also want to fight for the needs of public education. Whether we’re ensuring every student in school is fed, we’re expanding opportunities for early childhood education, or we’re bringing career and technical education partnerships into our schools, we can set up our children for a lifetime of success.
Forcing local law enforcement to carry out immigration raids pulls them away from keeping our communities safe. It’s a misuse of resources that burdens our officers and it puts our public safety at risk.
I support and will be voting in favor of all three amendments, which would enshrine in our state constitution access to reproductive freedom, guarantee marriage equality, and automatically restore the right to vote to former felons who have served their time. However, it is important to note that as a Delegate, my vote won’t make any of these amendments the law. I will simply be voting “yes” for these three amendments to appear on the November 2026 ballot to allow Virginia’s citizens the right to vote on whether or not they support them. Legislators who vote “no” are wrongfully taking away their constituents’ right to have a say on each amendment.
Virginia continues to be one of the top states for business, but lags behind the curve in being a preferred place for workers. We can both prioritize small business growth and entrepreneurship in the commonwealth while recognizing that workers deserve living wages and should have the ability to collectively bargain for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. I would like to see increased investment in infrastructure projects and workforce development. We need to be training workers for the jobs of tomorrow, which will add high-paying, skilled jobs to our region while stimulating economic growth.
