Biographical Information

What are your priorities to address the impact on Virginia of the dramatic changes to the Federal Budget and the decrease of Virginia’s tax base due to the loss of Federal employment?

Do you support legislation allowing Virginia to adopt the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (would ensure that every Virginia vote for President is equal to those votes from every other state and DC, while also guaranteeing that the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide wins the Presidency)?

If elected, what will be your top priorities for Virginia?

Virginia’s economy has long depended on federal spending, especially in defense and contracting but we can’t build a 21st-century economy on yesterday’s model. My priority will be to diversify and strengthen Virginia’s tax base by investing in workforce development and apprenticeships to prepare Virginians for high-growth industries like clean energy, healthcare, and technology. Additionally, expanding affordable housing and infrastructure so businesses and families can thrive here will be a majority priority. Lastly, I am committed to supporting small business growth in Hampton Roads and across the Commonwealth to create jobs that aren’t dependent on federal contracts.
Yes. I support Virginia joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact because every vote should carry equal weight, regardless of state lines. Under our current system, too many Virginians feel their presidential votes don’t matter as much as those in swing states. The Compact would ensure that the candidate who wins the most votes nationwide becomes President, while also guaranteeing that the voices of Virginians are fully counted in that outcome. Democracy works best when it is both fair and reflective of the will of the people.
My top priorities will be fully funding our public schools, raising teacher pay, and investing in student mental health and career readiness programs. Additionally, I will advocate for policies that expand housing supply, improve affordability, and strengthen infrastructure in fast-growing regions like Hampton Roads. Lastly, I will be laser-focused on creating good-paying jobs in clean energy and technology while expanding access to healthcare, protecting reproductive rights, and ensuring every Virginian can live with dignity. At the heart of these priorities is a commitment to equity, justice, and opportunity, so that every family in Virginia, no matter their zip code, has a fair shot at success.
