I am not a politician. I am a mom with two girls that are growing up in PGCPS, I want the best for each and every one of our children within the community. My parents, myself, and my husband all grew up and graduated from Prince George County Schools. We use to be the schools everyone wanted their children to attend. I want that for us again. With a strong background in banking and the financial world, I will focus on smart budgeting, improving programs to be sure we are supporting ALL of our students needs, and completing critical infrastructure projects. I may not know all the answers, but I promise to always ask questions and be sure that any decision that I make is in the best interest of our teachers, students and staff.
If I had to choose one, it would be to help prepare a more sustainable plan that would assure that we are helping to fill gaps across the board for ALL our children's core academics. There are several reports of inadequate services for students with special needs to help assure that they are not falling behind. Every student deserves to be supported no matter their learning abilities and developing a plan to support all of their different ways of learning is extremally important to the counties success. Every one learns differently. We must be providing our teachers with adequate support to be able have individualized learning to see all of our children thrive.
As a member of PGCPS School Board I will promise to always be genuine, transparent, accountable, make sure that every decision that I make is in the best interest of all our students and staff. In no specific order I want to restore trust and pride in our schools for generations to come. Advocate for instructional support whether it be preparing our children for college, or for a career straight out of high school (to include expanding our trade programs offered). Prioritizing budgeting to maximize resources for our classrooms. Hold everyone accountable from the top down to be sure expectations are clear and consistently enforced. We also must strengthen relationships with parents and community to be active partners.
