I was elected to Sylvania City Council in 2021, where I have served as Chair of the Parks & Forestry Committee for three years followed by Chair of Utilities & Environment for one year. I am actively involved in several local organizations, including serving on the Board of the Salvation Army of NW Ohio, as President of Sleepy Hollow Homeowners Association, and as an Advisory Council Member for the Lourdes University College of Business and Leadership. In addition, I am a Sylvania Arts Board Member, Starlite Theater Board Member, TMACOG Active Transportation Advisory Group Member, and Sylvania Chamber Welcoming Committee Member. Formerly, I served on the SAJRD Board and the Sylvania Board of Zoning Appeals. Outside of community involvement, I have a diverse background in business, with extensive experience in operations management, human resources, supply chain, and sales. I have spent the majority of my career with large corporations, including 15 years at UPS and 14 years at O-I.
My vision for Sylvania can be summarized in three objectives: (1) Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and community members; (2) Facilitate economic growth and development; (3) Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration. In terms of the safety and well-being objective, I believe strongly in supporting our police and fire departments, ensuring we have the technology and resources necessary, and building an environment which promotes physical and mental health. The latter two objectives, economic growth and culture, are both largely driven by relationship-building. I am very active and accessible in the community, and I really enjoy engaging with residents, businesses, and organizations. It allows the opportunity to develop rapport with others, generates a platform where ideas can be shared and concerns can be expressed, and builds a community network focused on moving Sylvania forward.
