My legal experience began in 2007 when I was hired as a law clerk by Judge C. Allen McConnell for the Toledo Municipal Court Housing Court while I was attending Law School at the University of Toledo College of Law. As Judge McConnell's law clerk, I learned the function and operation of the Court as well as the intricacies of docket management. Following my graduation from the College of Law and my passing of the bar exam in July of 2010, I practiced as a sole practitioner in the state of Ohio from 2011 until Dec 2023 when I was appointed by Governor DeWine to the Toledo Municipal Court bench with the retirement of the Hon. Amy J. Berling. I took the bench on January 2nd, 2024 and have been presiding since. In my first 20 months on the bench, I have presided over more than 35 bench trials as well as Motions to Suppress, restitution hearings, and probation violation hearings. My 20 months on the bench have equipped me well to continue to fulfill the responsibilities of the office.
My highest priority is to continue to provide a reliable, trustworthy, fair, and efficient forum for the resolution of every dispute that is assigned to my court. I want every person involved in a case before me to feel that the case as is important to me as it is to them. This includes not only the litigants, but the victims, the charging officers, and any other person who is involved in the case. I accomplish this by being on the bench punctually for every docket, treating every person with respect and dignity at all times, and by ensuring that every case is resolved within the time requirements dictated and required by the Ohio Supreme Court. Equally as important to me is that every person involved in the process, regardless of their role in the case, feels that they were treated fairly and that justice was done.
