I hope to be an effective bridge between the School Board and the Board of Supervisors. A positive working relationship between the two boards is a necessity as they control our budget funding request. Historically there has not been much collegiality between the boards and that hurts our students.
I am in my 19th year as a public school teacher. I taught in Stafford County for 11 years. I have two Master degrees in Education, one in Special Education and one in Educational Leadership. I am very knowledgeable in current academic trends and what students need in 2025 to be successful. I have been a varsity basketball head coach for 10 years, so I am used to working with a variety of personalities to achieve a common goal.
Stafford County offers the perfect mix of wide open spaces and suburban conveniences. There is an amazing "family" feeling here and that is why we put down roots 15 years ago.
Truancy and low performing students. I want every student to feel they belong, that they have a place at the table, that they matter and that they can learn.
I have been blessed to work in many different environments from day care director to college instructor with 20 years experience teaching, and k-12 certification, B.A, M.A. M.ED. I am still in touch with students from 30 years ago. I am retired and can devote full time to this position and I have no future political plans.
I love the history of Stafford county; and have volunteered in the community for the past 28 years. Stafford is a community of caring and engaged citizens who want to make a difference in the lives of its citizens. I love being a part of that community.
