The greatest challenges I see are restoring trust in our schools, ensuring academic excellence, and supporting teachers and students with the resources they need to succeed. Too often, politics distract from our core mission—educating children. We must focus on improving student outcomes, addressing learning loss, and attracting and retaining quality teachers. I will work to foster transparency, strengthen communication with parents, and ensure responsible use of taxpayer dollars so that our schools remain safe, effective, and focused on preparing every student for success.

What I love most about living here is the people. This is a community where neighbors look out for each other and where, if you’re open to it, you can build friendships across different racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. I appreciate the sense of connection and belonging that comes from that diversity. The natural beauty and opportunities here are wonderful, but it’s the people—their generosity, resilience, and care for one another—that truly make this home.

As a father of three graduates of Spotsylvania County Schools, I have personally witnessed the strengths and challenges of our system. I want to ensure that future generations—our children and grandchildren—receive the same or better opportunities, regardless of their background. My goal is to foster excellence in academics, safety, and equity while restoring trust and collaboration among families, educators, and the board.
I’ve lived in the rural part of Spotsylvania County for over 30 years, and what I love most about our community is the way people truly care about each other. The Battlefield District is rich with history, surrounded by beautiful open spaces, and filled with neighbors who look out for one another. It’s a place where families can grow strong roots, and that’s what makes me proud to call it home.
