CHRISTIANSBURG Town Mayor
Christiansburg Town Council is the legislative body that is responsible for establishing policy, taxation, land use and operating budgets for the Town. The council is comprised of six voting members and a mayor who votes in the event of a tie. Town Council and Mayor candidates run at-large in nonpartisan, general elections every four years, with three council seats available every two years and the mayor sear available every four years.

I am running for my 4th term as Mayor because I feel I still have much to give to our citizens. I have dedicated my entire life to making Christiansburg the place to live, work and raise a family. I am currently serving as Chairman of the Passenger Rail Station Authority and have worked for over 10 years to bring passenger rail service to Christiansburg and the New River Valley starting in 2027.
During my terms on Council and as Mayor Christiansburg has enjoyed much growth. We are financially sound, well managed and provide our citizens with the services they deserve. Police, Fire, Rescue, Public Maintenance, vast Recreational facilities, available so our citizens can enjoy the many opportunities to play, exercise, and enjoy their town
I bring over 25 years of service as an elected official. 42 years of service as a banker, 50 years of service with the Christiansburg Kiwanis Club,
I have had to make many decisions concerning our town, and I feel each one was a benefit to my town and our citizens
I am a proven leader and during my terms of office I have worked with neighboring communities, Montgomery County and 2 major Universities in making this area a superior place to live and work.
Living here all of my life, I have seen Christiansburg grow from 3,600 residents to over 24,000 residents. We are a regional shopping destination with expanded retail shopping and many restaurants we attract people from all over the area.
I have worked hard to see this area prosper.
The role has several facets, lead all meetings of the Town Council, work with Council to ensure we make sound and reasonable decisions that affect our citizens, work with town management to keep our town finically sound and provide our citizens with the best possible services to meet their needs.
The mayor is the main public spokesperson for the town and represents the town on many committees and commissions that work with surrounding municipalities.
The role is to help provide a great place to live, shop, work and raise a family in a safe area with many amities and activities geared provide something for everyone.
