Biographical Information

What are your priorities to address the impact on Virginia of the dramatic changes to the Federal Budget and the decrease of Virginia’s tax base due to the loss of Federal employment?

Do you support legislation allowing Virginia to adopt the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (would ensure that every Virginia vote for President is equal to those votes from every other state and DC, while also guaranteeing that the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide wins the Presidency)?

If elected, what will be your top priorities for Virginia?

Biography I've resided in our district for nearly 3 decades and am deeply engaged with our community. My platform emphasizes reducing the taxes, tolls, and licensing burdens we suffer under, addressing budget waste, supporting personal freedoms (such as marriage equality, immigration, and freedom of speech), and protecting us from government over reach.

I would not constantly use the Federal Government as an excuse for failure.

Both old parties like to blame failed national policies and priorities at the Federal level for problems when in power. It allows them to conveniently ignore the primary cause of businesses' decisions to flee or avoid our state. We need to remove the barriers to business growth, expansion, and small business startups.

Quite simply, overregulation and taxation are hurting our economy, costing us jobs, and forcing the ongoing exodus of businesses and employees. State and local governments continue to impose heavy burdens on small and large businesses through increased regulations, permits, fees, and taxes to make up for failing budgets.

No, it's a constitutional issue that creates a direct democracy vs. the current representative democracy. As such, the proper way to address this would be a convention of the states to put it forth and properly ratify it by a majority. I am always for a Convention of states if one were to have the support to be called for any reason.
Lower taxes, tolls, fees, & cut wasteful spending - So we can protect hardworking taxpayers and stop forcing our neighbors to flee our district.

Reduce the cost of housing & strengthen property rights - So we see more options such as accessory dwelling units, home additions/expansions, and lower cost building conversions. Housing should be affordable for all, not just a select few.

Empower job creators & slash red tape - So we can jumpstart our local economy rather than depend on the Fed.

Encourage campaign finance reform, term limits, and ranked choice voting - So we can return the power to everyday people.

Preserve parental rights, create educational competition & restore quality education- So we can get back to teaching our kids.

The federal government plays an outsized role in Virginia’s economy, and when Washington makes drastic budget cuts or reduces the federal workforce, communities across the Commonwealth feel the impact directly. That’s why I serve on the Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workforce and Funding Reductions, which is preparing recommendations this fall to protect state and local revenues, and diversify our economy. My priorities are protecting workers with resources and support during disruptions, safeguarding our budget to keep essential services funded, and attracting private-sector investment in industries like clean energy, technology, and advanced manufacturing so Virginia is less dependent on federal employment.
Yes. I believe every Virginian’s vote for President should carry the same weight as a vote cast anywhere else in the country, and the candidate who wins the most votes nationwide should become President. That’s why I have previously introduced legislation for Virginia to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, and I continue to support it. This reform would strengthen our democracy, ensure fairness in presidential elections, and guarantee that every vote truly counts.
My top priorities will be addressing Virginia’s urgent need for affordable housing, advancing gun violence prevention measures, and strengthening government transparency. Too many families struggle to find safe, affordable homes, and I will continue working to expand housing options across the Commonwealth. I am also committed to keeping our communities safe by supporting common-sense gun violence prevention laws that protect Virginians while respecting responsible ownership. And I believe Virginians deserve a government that is open, accountable, and transparent, so I will keep working to make state government more accessible and responsive to the people we serve.
