Charlottesville City Commonwealth's Attorney
Charlottesville voters in 2025 will elect the Commonwealth’s Attorney, the city’s chief prosecutor, responsible for prosecuting all criminal cases — including felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic offenses — on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, while also coordinating victim and witness support services and exercising broad legal discretion under state law to enforce public safety fairly and ethically.
