Biography
I was raised in a small community just outside Louisa, in Greene County. I served in numerous leadership positions within the school & participated in many extra-curricular activities & sports.I began my undergrad studies at UVA, majoring in Political Science, & later completed my degree at Liberty University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.I started my professional career in insurance almost 20 years ago. I worked my way around the organization learning & growing in numerous roles. I moved into leadership in 2017 & led the western half of Virginia. I got an opportunity to move into HR in 2021 & now currently work as the HR Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region of our Central Zone. I serve on the TAG Advisory Board & the SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Committee) for Team LCPS. In addition to that, I have been the HOA President, an ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network and Team ImpacI have participated as a keynote speaker for numerous local events.
As mayor, my first priority will be smart, balanced growth. Louisa is a special place because of its history, small-town charm, and close-knit community. Growth brings opportunity, but it must be thoughtful and responsible. I will support local businesses, encourage development that fits our character, and ensure all projects align with our community values and long-term plans. Supporting local businesses and attracting stable commercial ventures is key.
To boost revenue, we should focus on increasing foot traffic through targeted events, markets, and festivals. Partnering with local organizations to host “staple events” can attract both residents and tourists, driving revenue for local businesses. A positive byproduct of these events, they build pride and a connectedness within our community members.
My second priority is infrastructure and financial solvency. As our town grows, we must keep pace and plan for updates to our current infrastructure. These are the foundations that support families and businesses. We must make smart financial decisions and allocations that support necessary updates and plan for future growth and the impact that will have on our public works. I will work with our Town staff to identify grant and funding opportunities that can be leveraged for these critical updates. In collaboration with Council and staff, we will work together to create a comprehensive fiscal policy that actively plans for our future state and needs.
My third and most important priority is community engagement and open leadership. I believe government works best when people are part of the process. I will lead with transparency and open communication, working hand-in-hand with Town Council while creating more opportunities for residents to share ideas, raise concerns, and help shape decisions. We should be celebrating the community through events, showcasing local achievements, and supporting grassroots initiatives.
For me, growth in Louisa isn’t about getting bigger-it’s about getting better. I believe we can welcome new opportunities while still protecting the small-town charm that makes Louisa such a special place to call home. That means focusing on smart, not fast, growth. We should encourage businesses, and development that complement our community’s character, not overwhelm it.
That means asking the right questions and leveraging the right sources when we are presented with development and growth initiatives. It is crucial that we approach these decisions thoughtfully and collaboratively, considering their effects on both the Town and the County, as well as on key support systems like Fire and EMS, the Louisa County Water Authority, and our school systems.
At the same time, we have to be intentional about preserving what makes Louisa unique—our historic Main Street, our small-town traditions, and the close-knit culture that brings neighbors together. Growth should enhance those qualities, not replace them.
We also need to make sure our infrastructure keeps pace with progress. That means planning ahead for roads, schools, and essential services so that new development strengthens quality of life for everyone who lives here now and everyone who joins us in the future.
And perhaps most importantly, every step forward has to be shaped by the voices of our residents. I believe in community-driven planning, where people have a real say in the future of their town—not just decisions made behind closed doors. By actively involving residents in decision-making processes, we ensure preservation of our town’s traditions, history,
So when I talk about growth, I’m talking about thoughtful progress-supporting local businesses, protecting our traditions, and building a future where we don’t lose the very qualities that make people proud to call Louisa home. If I’m elected, I’ll work every day to ensure progress strengthens our community, without sacrificing our small-town charm
Transparency is not just a concept to be discussed—it is a practice that must be demonstrated consistently. It is essential for the Town to prioritize clear and open communication with its citizens. To that end, I believe all Town meetings should be recorded and made publicly available within 24 hours via the official Town website and social media platforms, with the long-term goal of transitioning to a live-streaming format similar to that of our county partners.
Additionally, meeting schedules and agendas should be prominently and proactively publicized, ensuring that citizens do not have to search for information. Open positions on committees and boards should also be clearly communicated, with efforts made to actively encourage community members to engage and participate.
I would look for ways to foster two-way communication; achieving that through town halls, surveys, and social media, ensuring residents feel heard and valued. I believe we should be encouraging participation by recruiting residents for boards, committees, and volunteer initiatives. It’s important the government officials push into their community to meet their constituents where they are, it should not be the sole responsibility of the resident to come seeking information. As the Mayor I plan to strengthen relationships by attending community events, partnering with local organizations, and addressing concerns promptly.
Most importantly, as a leader, I will build trust within our community on three pillars: integrity, competence, and empathy. I will hold myself and our Town Council accountable to those pillars and ask that our residents do the same.
The challenges we face—whether it’s infrastructure, public safety, or economic development—can’t be solved by one person alone. They require teamwork, open communication, and trust. My approach will be to work hand-in-hand with Town Council, our Public Works department, Economic Development Authority, County officials, and organizations like LCWA to fully understand the increased needs and plan for our future capital investment projects to address infrastructure updates. Most importantly, I will work with the people of Louisa, seeking their perspective and feedback on what they believe the highest priorities. Then work together to develop solution focused plans that meet the needs of the community and supports the Town's continued stability and success.
On infrastructure, that means careful planning and making sure investments keep pace with growth, so our roads, utilities, and schools meet the needs of today while preparing for tomorrow. I will leverage the knowledge and technical expertise of
For public safety, I’ll work closely with our police, fire, and emergency services to ensure they have the resources, staffing, and training they need to protect our families.
And when it comes to economic development, I’ll push for balanced growth—supporting small businesses, attracting responsible new employers, and making sure opportunities benefit local residents first.
The key is transparency and engagement of our community members. I’ll make sure residents are part of the conversation, not left out of it. By listening to community concerns, working in partnership with Town Council and others, and focusing on solutions instead of politics, we can strengthen our infrastructure, keep Louisa safe, and create opportunities—without losing the small-town character that makes us proud to live here.
