Culpeper faces the growing challenge of dealing with, well, growth! Rampant additions of subdivisions and proposed data centers have put a strain on all areas of our infrastructure. Aging out pipes and utility lines must be addressed, schools that are stressed for resources due to increasing class sizes, and roads/intersections that need maintenance and/or attention due to frequent accidents should all be focused on before there is any more substantial growth within Culpeper. The shift to infrastructure before growth is one of the biggest concerns that Culpeper citizens have and it will likely be one of the biggest challenges to fix.
We need fresh leadership within Culpeper. Those who have been in charge of the town for the last four years have had some successes in some areas with playgrounds and parks being built, but by and large there has not been much that has substantially been done for the community. Culpeper needs leadership that will be proactive to issues and not reactive, and that is exactly what I am going to bring to the table.
Having grown up in Northern Virginia, and having been a Culpeper resident for 15 years, I can see and appreciate the stark difference between an urbanizing and rural environment. Many move to Culpeper to appreciate it's quiet, small town charm. We like our small town feel. The friendly atmosphere. That is exactly what I wish to preserve as a future elected member of Culpeper Town Council.
