I bring more than a decade of proven leadership as a teacher, nonprofit leader, and community organizer. As an HOA president and coalition builder, I have secured investments in safety, parks, and infrastructure while protecting neighborhoods from displacement. My service on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee and experience chairing advocacy councils demonstrate my ability to listen, build consensus, and act with integrity. I combine grassroots organizing skills with policy knowledge to deliver results. District 3 needs intentional leadership that understands our neighborhoods and can navigate city systems effectively. I am ready to serve on day one.
1. Housing & Preventing Displacement: I will fight for affordable homeownership, stronger tenant protections, and community benefits agreements to ensure growth doesn’t push longtime residents out. 2. Transit & Infrastructure: I will champion safe, reliable public transit, sidewalks, and lighting while making sure investments include equity safeguards and local workforce opportunities. 3. Youth & Community Investment: I will expand opportunities for youth through workforce development and mentorship, ensuring all families in District 3 can thrive.
I will address housing and displacement by supporting community benefits agreements that guarantee affordable units and local hiring in new developments. I will advocate for land banking, using land trust models on city-owned land, stronger tenant protections, and programs that expand homeownership opportunities for working families. I also support aiding HOAs in enforcing covenants that set reasonable rental caps, ensuring neighborhoods aren’t overtaken by corporate landlords who outbid families. My goal is to make sure growth preserves affordability and stability for the residents who already call District 3 home.
I am running to bring intentional leadership and fresh energy to District 3. My record as a teacher, HOA president, and nonprofit leader shows I know how to deliver results that strengthen neighborhoods. I will prioritize equity in development, protect families from displacement, and ensure residents benefit from Charlotte’s growth. District 3 deserves a representative who listens, builds consensus, and acts with integrity. I am ready to be that voice.
